Em ployees from Oregon Road Departments as well as ODOT show their skills on obstacle courses using a v ariety o f ty p es o f equipment. In addition to Papineau, Tom Bedortha, Bill Morris and Greg Close, all M orrow County, also competed. Some of the events included: Truck Plow, where a snow plow is mounted on a truck and it is driven through a serpentine course with tennis balls on cones; Grader, where a grader is driven through a course and then try to push a bowling ball into a slot; Loader, where a ball is dropped into a g arb ag e can and then maneuver a course; Chains- O n -O ff^w h ere the truck driver grabs a set of chains, puts them on their dump truck, pull forward and stop exactly on a line, check the chains, back up to the exact sam e spot, take o ff the chains and return the chains to the starting point. There were a total of 120 o p erato rs at the competition. Each person is eligible to compete in all of the events. The people with the top two scores are then eligible for the all expense paid trip to “Top G u n ” , Papineau placed second overall. First place went to our neighboring county, Wheeler County, who will be rep resen ted by Scott Richardson.
