They were coached by Dean Robinson and competed in six meets. The final cham pionship meet was held in Umatilla on May 7. There were 10 team s com peting: lone, H eppner, C olum bia, Umatilla, Stanfield, Athena- Weston, Echo, Helix, Ukiah and Pilot Rock. Four lone runners claim ed individual cham p io n sh ip s: Cory Peterson was the 7th grade champion in both the long jum p and the 100-m eter dash. Eighth grader Kylie Svetich was triple jum p champion, Paige Armstrong won the 100-me ter dash and Julie Vandenbrink claimed first in the 800 meter run. The sixth/seventh grade relay team claim ed the victory in the 4x100 meter relay. Both the lone girls and boys’ eighth grade 4x200 relay team s were cham pions.
