Tax exemption application Umatilla-Willow Subbasin CORE deadline for war Partnership to hold public meeting veterans is April 1 The O regon D epartm ent o f R evenue reminds disabled war veterans and surviving spouses of war veterans that April 1 is the application deadline for the v e te ra n s ’ pro p erty tax exemption. Qu;ilified veterans or their surviving spouses may be entitled to exempt either $10,160 or $13,520 of their property’s assessed value from pro p erty taxes. Applications and information are available by calling the local county assessor’s office. The $10,160 exemption applies to war veterans with disabilities of 40 percent or more and to war veterans’ surviving spouses who have not remarried. The $ 13,520 exemption applies to war veterans with service- connected disabilities of 40 percent or more. It also applies to the surviving spouses of war veterans who died because of service- connected illness or injury or who had received at least one year o f the m axim um exemption.
