Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, January 14, 2004 - FIVE Sheriff's Report The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) re ports handling the following business: Aug. 7: MCSO dis patched experienced a brief power outage due to the elec trical storm. All systems re turned operational. -MCSO received a relayed request for a welfare check on the caller’s estranged husband in Irrigon. The caller stated she spoke to her hus band requesting a divorce; he sounded depressed, had been doing drugs and was possibly suicidal. Per deputy check, all was okay. -MCSO deputy re quested B oardm an C ity Works be contacted regard ing water out in an area in Boardman. The city was aware of the problem; it was caused by the electrical storm. -Joseph LaChapelle, 46, was cited for Reckless Driving. -MCSO received a request for a deputy contact t regarding a female subject wanting to move from an abu sive situation. -MCSO received a report of an alarm at Klamath First Federal in Heppner. It was determined an employee accidentally set off the alarm. -MCSO received a request for a records check from Pendleton Recruiting Sta tion for a male subject. -MCSO received a report from a caller in Irrigon that his wife saw a Hispanic male subject looking into her window at 3 a.m.; he then ran on foot northbound. -MCSO received a rep o rt from a c aller in Boardman o f goats on the property eating trees and the flower garden. -M C SO , O regon State Police, Irrigon and Boardman ambulances re ceived a relayed report that a male subject committed sui cide by hanging himself. The male subject was contacted; he advised his wife called in the report and it was unfound ed. He was only trying to get to Heppner to court, c -MCSO received a request for a deputy contact from a caller in Heppner re garding a theft that had oc curred. -M C SO , O regon State Police received a report of a truck tire in the right lane o f 1-84 eastbound. -MCSO received a report of two male subjects camping at the Irrigon pump station; their vehicle had ex pired plates. -MCSO received a report from a c a lle r in Boardman that a subject en tered his vehicle from the back window and stole his stereo. -MCSO deputy ar rested Christopher Dewayne Schneider, 20, on an Irrigon Justice Court warrant for Fail ure to Pay Fine/Driving while License Suspended. -MCSO received a report from a caller in Lexing ton that two male subjects and one female subject attempted to get an impounded vehicle out and broke a window. Rob ert Leinweber, 37, was arrest ed for Criminal Mischief III, Criminal Trespass 11, and lodged at the Umatilla County Jail. James Gary Johnson, 39, was arrested on an UCSO warrant for Forged II, Assault II, Theft II. He was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail. -MCSO deputy cited Ronald Carl Tangsrud, 35, for Maintaining a Dog as a Public Nuisance. -MCSO received a report from a caller in Irrigon who wanted to file harassment charges and have a subject cit ed for dogs. -MCSO received a report from a caller in Irrigon who advised a male subject with an outstanding warrant was hanging around the call er’s brother’s residence. -MCSO received an abandoned 911 call from the Morrow County Fairgrounds. It was unfounded. -MCSO, Boardman Police Dept, units arrested Floriberta Rangel-Rodriguez, 31, for Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Forged Instrument II (x2). The subject was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail. Joaquin Ledesma Fernandez, 21, was arrested for Unauthorized Use o f a Motor Vehicle, Giving False Information to a Police Officer, and cited for Driving while License Suspended In fraction and No Insurance. The ve hicle was impounded. -MCSO received a report from Deschutes Coun ty SherifFs Office that Jeremy Walker, 26, was arrested on an Irrigon Justice Court war rant for Failure to Appear/ Driving while License Sus pended. -MCSO, Boardman Police Dept, received an abandoned 911 call from a residence in Boardman. On attempted call-back, it was determined the phone could not receive incoming calls. It was determined that all was okay; it was a misdial. -MCSO received a report from a caller in Heppner that beer was stolen out of his truck while parked at the Bank o f E astern O regon in Heppner.
