Glenn Coxen, Bob Mollahan, Tom Hughes, Gene Orwick, Bud Peck and Elwin Gamwell. George Eldon Tucker, 75, o f lone, died Monday, July 7, 2003, at M id-C olum bia Medical Center in The Dalles. A graveside service was held July 14 at High View Cem etery in lone. Tucker was bom Dec. 22, 1927, near Heppner, to William and Mildred Harrison Tucker. He grew up in the H eppner area and attended area schools and helped his family by logging trees. During World War II, he served w ith the A rm y and w as stationed in Germ any. D uring the Korean War he served w ith the Air Force. O n June 8, 1950, he m a rrie d P a tric ia G la d y s Drake. F o r m o re th a n 30 years w orked for the C ity o f lo n e in m an y c a p a c itie s including C h ief o f Police. He was a m em ber o f the lone V olunteer Fire D epartm ent and a life m em ber o f the lone American Legion, receiving a 50-year pin. He loved sp en d in g time in the mountains, fishing, hunting deer and elk, looking for m ushroom s, collecting coins, antiques and he was an avid rockhound. It w as said that he w as always w illing to lend a hand to neighbors and friends. Survivors include a son, D avid Tucker o f lone; dau g h ters, Teresa K ing o f S ilv e rto n , T anya T iegs o f M cM innville and Tam m ie W illiam s o f Layton, Utah; sister, M aryEvelyn Ross o f C olton; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The show will be held S aturday, A ug. 2, in Prairie City, OR. C h e c k - in a n d a t- event registration will be held from 9-11 a.m., at City Park. A Poker W alk around city m erchants will be held from 10 a.m .-2 p.m . Poker hands and car show ballots w ill be turned in at 2 p.m. Prizes will be aw arded at 3 p.m . The event will finish with a cruise down the valley to John Day and back, about 30 m inutes roundtrip. The five classes for the event are: 1948 and older car; 1949 to 1959 car; 1960 to 1978 car; truck and utility 1978 a n d o ld e r ; a n d convertible 1978 and older. Registration is $ 15 for the first car and $ 10 for the second. The registration fee includes a "'goodie bag,” dash plaque and poker walk entry. All entrants must have a proof o f insurance and be at least 18-years-old or accompanied by an adult. Philbert D. Lossing w as convicted o f T h e ft-1, a Class-C felony and Assault-3, a Class-C felony. Lossing was sentenced concurrently for both co u n ts, alo n g w ith a s e n te n c e c u rre n tly b e in g served out o f Klamath County. In M orrow County, he was s e n te n c e d to 18 m o n th s supervised probation, 30 days in jail and payment o f $ 164 in fines and fees. Teresa Lynn Jensen pled guilty to Possession o f a C o n tr o lle d S u b s ta n c e , a C la ss-C felo n y and D U II (Diversion, not guilty o f DUII), a C la s s -A m is d e m e a n o r. Jensen was sentenced to 80 hours o f com m unity service, 18 m onths formal probation, completion o f a drug package and $996 in fines and fees.
