Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, December 11, 2002 -NINÉ Sheriffs Report The Morrow County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) reports handling the following business: -M C S O r e c e iv e d a request for m essage delivery to a subject at the W illow C reek Dam. -M C S O r e c e iv e d a rep o rt o f a m o tio n d e te c to r b u rg la r alarm at an Irrig o n residence. It was a false alarm and determined to have been set o ff by a dog left in the residence. -M CSO, OSP received a report from a caller in Heppner that bird hunters shot toward her residence and hit her in the chest with shot, but it didn’t penetrate her shirt and she doesn’t need an am bulance. O SP located the vehicle. -M C S O c ite d D a v id Paul Winter, 48, for Violation o f the Basic Rule 79 m ph in a 55 mph zone. -M C SO cited M aria de Jesus Cardenas Herrera, 25, for Violation o f the Basic Rule, 42 m ph in a 30 m ph zone. -M C S O r e c e iv e d a report from a caller in Heppner th a t th e r e w a s a p o s s ib le trespasser at his residence. -M C S O r e c e iv e d a report o f a non-injury m otor vehicle accident in Boardman. -M CO cited Patrick W. M cG innis, 50, for Failure to O bey a Traffic C ontrol D evice with a m otor vehicle accident. -M C S O r e c e iv e d a request for city w orker contact for a w ater pipe break causing the caller’s basement to flood. -M C S O r e c e iv e d a report from a caller in Heppner o f a m ale passed out in a pick up across the street. Christopher M ichael W hittington, 30, was cited for DUII, bac .23. N o v . 1: M C S O re* ceived a report o f a burglar alarm at H uw e’s Washboard in Irrigon. It w as determ ined to be a false alarm. -M C SO , O regon State Police, Boardman Police Dept., Irrigon ambulance received a re port o f a request for help from a caller in Irrigon. It was a possi ble domestic situation. The am bulance call was cancelled. Fred Eugene Stephens, 42, w as ar rested for A ssault IV. He was lodged at the U m atilla C ounty Jail. -M C S O , B o a rd m a n Police Dept, received a report o f a c o n tro lle d bird hunt from ODFW . -M C SO received a re port o f anim al neglect from a caller in Irrigon. The caller said a dog had been chained up for a year and had not had food or water in days. The caller advised it appeared the dog was dying. -M C SO deputy cited Ana Rosa Diaz-Evangelista, 18, for Failure to Carry P roof o f In surance, D isobeying a Traffic Control Device and No Seatbelt (Child). -Boardman Police Dept, officer cited M yrla Cox, 63, for Driving while License Suspend ed and Driving Uninsured. -M C S O , B o a rd m a n Police Dept., Boardman am bu lance received a report from a caller in Boardman that she was having trouble breathing. The patient was transported to Good Shepherd M edical C enter in Hermiston. -M C SO received a re port o f an injured deer on High way 74. The deer was put down. -M C S O , H e rm is to n Police Dept, received a report from the Boardman ambulance that a red Toyota truck was tail- gating them and flashing its high beams. -M C SO deputy cited Lavem Van M arter, 50, for Hit and Run, Property Damage and R eckless Driving. Van M arter was cited and released to appear at the Heppner Justice Court. -M C S O , O D F W r e ceived a report o f a small grass fire on USFS Road 21 o ff USFS Road 53. -M C S O , B o a rd m a n Police Dept., Boardman am bu lance received a report from a caller at the Boardman east bound rest area that he was having trou ble breathing. The patient w as transported to G ood Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston. -M C S O , B o a rd m a n Police Dept, received a report o f a possible traffic accident on I- 84 east bound. It was determined to be a disabled vehicle. -M C S O , B o a rd m a n Police Dept, received a request for an officer contact from a call er in Boardman regarding a bro ken w ater m ain near his resi dence. -M C SO , O regon State Police received a report o f a dead deer blocking the right- hand lane on 1-84 eastbound and causing a road hazard. -M C SO deputy arrest ed Jesse Thom as M oore, 21, on an Irrigon Justice Court warrant for U nauthorized Use o f a M o tor Vehicle. He was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail. N o v . 2: M C S O r e ceived a request for a w elfare check on a male subject walking on Highway 74 towards Lexing ton from the golf course. A dep uty was unable to locate the sub ject. -M C SO received a re port from OSP that Ronald Lynn Cronen, 47, w as arrested on a Morrow County warrant for Fail ure to Appear/Driving while Li cense Suspended, Violation o f the Basic Rule and Failure to Use S e a tb e lt. H e w as lo d g ed at NORCOR. -M C SO , O regon State Police received a report from a caller in Irrigon that some o f her friends, who had been drinking, left her residence and were go ing to Umatilla. -M CSO, O regon State Police received a report from a caller on 1-84 eastbound that a semi was sw ervingfrom le*fio" right, the caller thought the driv er was falling asleep at the wheel. -M C SO , O regon State Police received a report from a caller on 1-84 eastbound o f a dis abled vehicle with its flashers on that w as o ff to the side o f the road. The caller said it was too dark to tell if any people were at the location. -M C SO received a re port from a caller in Irrigon that her vehicle was broken into the previous night and the stereo was taken. -M C SO received a re port from a caller in Irrigon that his neighbor’s big rig was illegal ly parked overw eight on the street. -M C SO received a re port from a caller that she recov ered a stray dog. -M C S O deputy cited Mark Allen Correll, 36, for Vio lation o f the Basic Rule, 76 mph in a 55 m ph zone. -M CSO, Heppner Pub lic Works received a report from a caller in H eppner o f a w ater leak from under her house. -M C S O deputy cited Sandra Day, 36, for Violation o f the Basic Rule, 75 m ph in a 55 mph zone. -M C S O deputy cited Cruz Castellanos Ruelas, 18, for N o O perator’s License and N o Insurance, cited Julio Castellanos Ruelas, 21, for Perm itting U n lawful Operation o f a M otor Ve hicle, and cited Salvador Garcia Gutierrez, 31, for Open Contain er. The vehicle was impounded. -M C S O , B o a rd m a n Police Dept, received a report from a caller in Boardm an o f a possible flare near the railroad tracks behind her house. -M C S O , G C S O r e ceived a report from a caller in lone that his renter’s house had been broken into. The address was determined to be in Gilliam County. -M C S O d e p u ty checked on a vehicle parked o ff the road on Highway 730. There was no one around and the vehi cle was not a hazard. -M C SO received a re port from a caller in Irrigon o f a small fire. It was determined to be a controlled bum. Nov. 3: Boardm an Po lice Dept, officer cited Julian C ornejo Carlos, 25, for Failure to Obey Traffic Control Device. -M C SO deputy arrest ed Amber Marie Whitson, 23, on a D eschutes County Work Rel. w arrant for False Report. She was lodged at the UmatillaCoun- ty Jail. -M C SO deputy cited a male juvenile for Exceeding the M aximum Speed Limit, 86 mph in a 65 m ph zone. -M CSO, MC Emergen cy M anagem ent, Heppner Fire C hief received a report o f a flash flood level #3 w arning on W il low Creek. It was determined all was okay. -M C SO received a re port from a caller at the 76 Sta tion in Irrigon that a vehicle peeled out in the parking lot and left skid marks. -M C SO received a re port from a caller in Boardm an o f a very aggressive stray dog in the c a ller’s back yard. The dog was detained. -M C SO , H eppner Fire Dept., Heppner ambulances, Air Life received a report o f a head- on collision on the USFS 21/53 road. It was reported that possi bly alcohol was involved. Air Life transported tw o patients to St. M ary’s in Walla Walla, WA., and the ambulances transported three patients to Pioneer M em orial Hospital in Heppner. -M C SO cited a subject for Theft III, Criminal M ischief III and M IP-Tobacco. -M C SO received a re port from a caller in Boardm an o f a stray dog. The dog was de tained. -M C SO received a re port from a caller at the Oasis RV park that a tenant m oving out stole the neighbor’s cat. -M C S O , B o a rd m a n Police Dept, received a report o f an alarm in Boardm an. It was determ ined to be the neighbor feeding a cat. -M C SO received a re port from a caller in Boardm an ofjuveniles riding a 3-wheeler; the juveniles w ere not w earing helmets. M aria Elena Andrade, 26, w as cited for Endangering Rider o f a Class III All-Terrain Vehicle. -M C SO received a re port o f a small fire near USFS Road 21 o ff USFS Road 53. It w as determ ined to be a pre scribed bum. -M C SO received a re port from a caller in Irrigon o f a woman having difficulty breath ing. The patient was transported to G o o d S h e p h e rd M ed ical Center in Hermiston. -M C SO received a re port from a caller in Irrigon that her vehicle was struck by anoth er vehicle at the Irrigon 76 sta tion. Rebecca Lynn Avila, 42, was cited for Failure to Perform Du ties o f a Driver-Property and No Insurance. -M C S O , B o a rd m a n Police Dept, received a report from a caller in Boardm an that he received a harassing phone call from an unknown male subject. N ov. 4: M C SO re ceived a report from a caller in Heppner that his wife was ill and requested contact with Pioneer M emorial Hospital. On M CSO recontact, the caller said his wife was feeling better and confirmed he would take her to PMH or call 911 for an ambulance. -M C SO received a re layed report from the Hermiston Police Dept, o f tw o horses out on Highway 207 near the North Lex Elevators. The ow ner’s rel ative was contacted and w ould take care o f the horses. -M C SO received a re port from the Irrigon M edical Clinic o f a false alarm at the clin ic. The caller was later recontacted and advised the alarm was off. -M C SO , Irrigon am bu lance received a report from a caller in Im gon o f a male subject suffering a possible stroke. The patient was transported to Good Shepherd M edical C en ter in Hermiston. -M C S O d ep u ty c ite d John R. Kincaid, IV, 53, for Vi olation o f the Basic Rule, 75 mph in a 55 m ph zone. -M C SO received a re port from a caller in Heppner that he had left his cell phone on the side o f the road near the RV fill site on Main Street and when he w ent back to get the phone, it was gone. -M C SO received a re port from a caller at the Irrigon 76 station o f a trespasser. -Boardman Police Dept, officer cited Robert William Shea, 56, for Burglary I, Theft II, and Criminal M ischiefll. -M C SO deputy cited a subject for Criminal Trespass II, Juvenile Court. -M C SO received a re port from a caller in Heppner that a skunk was on his property and he didn’t know how to get rid o f it -M C SO received a re port from a caller in Lexington that som eone stole her extra set o f house keys from a m ale sub ject and put the keys in her resi dence. The caller thought her ex spouse might have done it. N ov. 5: M C SO cited Leslie Totten, 38, for Exceeding the M aximum Speed, 82 m ph ip a 65 m ph. -M C S O r e c e iv e d a report from UCSO that they had gotten several incom plete 911 calls o f a m otor vehicle accident n e a r B u tte rc re e k Je t. U p o n arrival at the scene no one w as located. M C SO received a call from the subject that he w as ok and had gotten a ride home. -M C S O r e c e iv e d a req u e st for c o n ta c t from an Irrigon caller regarding her 12- year-old daughter who was being h a ra sse d an d th re a te n e d by another juvenile. -M C S O r e c e iv e d a request for contact from a caller in Boardman regarding items he has stored with some people and they w on’t let him have his items back. -Boardman PD received a request for assistance from K e g le r’s M arket concerning a 10-m onth-old baby w ho had locked herself in a vehicle. The caller informed that a locksmith had been called already, and w hen the officer arrived, the locksm ith w as already on the scene. -M C S O r e c e iv e d a request for contact from a caller in B oardm an regarding a p ick up that was illegal dumping some materials. -M C S O r e c e iv e d a request to contact the m other o f a stranded m otorist, so that she could pick the m otorist up. -M C S O r e c e iv e d a relayed report from Klickitat Co. o f a grass fire four m iles west o f Tupper G uard Station o ff the U SFS ro ad 21.
