T he th e fie this year was “The (iitt ofT rees” . “ T h e th e m e w a s a reminder to the students that most o f us liv e surrounded by trees and w e m ay take them for granted. Each o f us has a responsibility to care tor trees and forests from the nearest city street to the most rem ote m o u n tain to p ,” said a district spokesperson. J o s te n s w ill be at H e p p n e r H ig h S c h o o l fo r s o p h o m o r e s and- s e n io r s Monday, Dec. 2. They will hold a parent order night at 6:30 p.m., M onday, Dec. 9. There w ill be an adv isory m eeting W ednesday, Dec. 4, at H H S, at 7 p.m . The follow ing Wednesday, Nov. 11, will be the HHS Site Council m eeting at 6 p.m. The H eppner E le m e n ta r y S c h o o l m u sic program will be Thursday, Dec. 12, in the HHS gym at 7 p.m. H H S w ill h o ld th e ir m u sic program Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m. in the HHS cafeteria. W hen the ticking clock s trik e s 4 :3 0 p .m ., d o n ’t be am azed when not even a mouse will stir, for one and all will stop and stare: Look for the Giant Christm as Tree, next to S anta’s sleigh, but you will not need to look very far. Since, it will light up the whole city w ith thousands o f w ondrous lights and all will cheer! But wait, somebody must have made the Grinch real mad, because he just pulled the Giant C hristm as Tree Light plug! Oh my, out w ent the lights. Yup! every single, little light on that Giant Christmas Tree. That mean ole’ Grinch, he just stole our glee and cheer, now that is ju st not fair! But, wait. Yes, 1 think 1 can see a teeny little light coming from th e w e st. Is it a s ta r? Is it Rudolph, well o f course not, since the light w ould be red from his fam ous nose... Can you hear what I hear? It’s faint, but 1 think I can hear music coming from that light. Oh my, silly me, it’s 6 p.m. and tim e for the “Light Parade" and one and all start to cheer!
