The bank is funding free swimming for the communitvat the water park each Monday in July. As part of the America's Promise the Bank o f Eastern Oregon, Heppner Branch, has sponsored a free swim day at the Willow Creek Water Park. Every Monday in July the pool will be open to the public at no charge from 1-5 p.m. courtesy o f the Bank o f Eastern Oregon. "W ith Colin L. The Heppner Branch o f Bank o f Eastern Oregon is fulfilling one o f the prom ises to the nation by offering a safe place with structured activity during non-school hours for children o f the community. Gentrys to celebrate 50th anniversary (You can resister at the course) Michele Walborn and Andy Ashbeck Dave and Leslie Walborn o f Arlington announce the engagement o f their daughter, Michele Walborn o f Arlington, to Andy Ashbeck o f Echo. The bride-elect graduated from Arlington High School in 1996 and from Eastern Oregon University in 2000. She was a teacher with the Echo School D istrict this past year and will teach sixth grade for the Pendleton School District in the fall. Ashbeck is the son o f Alvin and Julie Ashbeck of Echo. He graduated in 1994 from Heppner High School and attended Blue Mountain Community College. He is currently employed as a heavy equipment operator for Sid Britt Plantation Harvesting in Echo. The couple will be married August 4, 2001, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pendleton. Gribbles receive yard of the month Peterson's Heppner Jewelers, 676-9200 Bill and Pat Gentry, 1951 SUPPORT THU SCHOOLS Lowell and Dee Gribble The yard o f Lowell and Dee Gribble has been selected as the Heppner Garden Club yard of the month for June. The Gribbles have lived in their home on Gilmore Street since 1990. Their yard, which is m eticulously mowed and edged by Lowell "Grib", features iris. The Gentrys, 2001 Bill and Pat Gentry o f Heppner are celebrating 50 years o f marriage. They were married June 19, 1951, in Santa Clara, California, and have resided in Heppner as a couple since 1953. fhe Gentrys have four children, Judy Towner o f Bend, Janet Greenup of Heppner. Jerry Gentry o f Heppner and Jackie Ansotegui o f Kenai, Alaska; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. ITieir children will be hosting an informal reception for them at the Pendleton Oxford Suites on Saturday, June 30, from 4-6 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
