The Mustangs opened the tournament with a 60-52 loss to the eventual state champions, Dayton Pirates, beat the McKenzie Eagles. 50-43, in consolation play, then lost, 79-53, to a hot-shooting Oakland Oakers. The state tournament ended the high school careers of seniors Blake Knowles, Craig Scott, Ryan Maneson. Joe Papineau and David Piper.
