Oregon State Police received a report o f three intoxicated males cutting a lock on a gate and driv ing through property after they were refused entry on a bow hunt. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a report of a subject re fused service at the Boardman Texaco who became confronta tional. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a request for an officer concerning the caller’s son being harassed by a neighbor. MCSO received a report of a headset stolen from an airplane while (larked at the Lexington air port. M CSO , U m atilla County Sheriff’s office received a report of a suicidal subject. M CSO, B oardm an Police Dept, received a report of a pos sible burglary in progress on Wil son Road. Heppner Police, Fire depts. re ceived a report of a brush fire at the Morrow County Fairgrounds. MCSO received a report of a 15 year old juvenile missing in Imgon. Sept. 10: MCSO, Boardman Police Dept, received a report of a possible fight. It was a birthday party getting loud. Pendleton Police Dept, ar rested Mark Eldon Nelson, 35, on a Morrow County Circuit Court warrant for Parole Violation/Un- authorized Use of a Motor Ve hicle. He was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail with $ 10,000 bail. MCSO received a report of a suspicious vehicle at the Irrigon Wildlife Refuge. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a report of a construction company working at the Inland Empire Bank who set o ff the alarm. MCSO, Heppner Police Dept, received a report of a burglary at Peterson’s Jewelers. MCSO received a report of a semi burglarized in Imgon. MCSO received a report of another vehicle burglarized in Irrigon. MCSO received a report of a missing hunter found. M CSO , B oardm an Police Dept, received a report of a bur glar alarm at Sam Boardman El ementary. MCSO deputy reported a dog with porcupine quills in his mouth and face. MCSO, Oregon State Police, Heppner Fire Dept., MC Road Dept., Heppner Rescue, Heppner ambulance received a report of a one vehicle rollover on Heppner Hill. The vehicle was blocking traffic and was upside down. It was a non-injury accident. MCSO received a report o f signs stolen from A. C. Houghton Elementary School. M CSO, B oardm an Police Dept., Boardman ambulance re ceived a request for an ambulance for a 68 year old man with a rac ing heart. The patient was trans ported to Good Shepherd Commu nity Hospital in Hermiston. MCSO received a report of a theft from a vehicle in Imgon. MCSO received another report of a theft from a vehicle. Oregon State P olice, Boardman Police and Fire depts. receive^ a report of heavy smoke coming from a vehicle on 1-84. Heppner Fire Dept, received a report of a 911 hang-up call in Heppner. The phone was busy on recall. There was no emergency. Oregon State Police received a report of a vehicle revving its motor loudly. Heppner Police Dept, received a report of two empty jewel boxes near the switchbacks on Highway 207, Heppner Hill. Oregon State Police received a report of two motorcycles do ing approximately 80+ miles. MCSO received a report of a headset stolen from an airplace while parked at Lexington airport. Oregon State Police officer arrested Carl Thomas Frederick 52, on a Morrow County warrant for No Hunting License. Bail was $ 6 , 000 . Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a report of a DUII on I- 84. The subject was negative for DUII, but in custody for Posses sion of a Controlled Substance - Schedule II, Schedule I - Less than One Oz. The subject was cited for Possession o f a Controlled Substance I and II, Open Con tainer, Driving while License Sus pended and No Insurance. MCSO received a report of a small red car speeding. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a report of a burglary at a residence. Sept. 11: Oregon State Police at The Dalles advised they ar rested Lance LeRoy Klinger, 29, on a Heppner Justice Court war rant for Failure to Appear. He was lodged at Norcor with $6,000 bail. MCSO received a report o f a dog barking in Irrigon. MCSO deputy cited Sherrie Ann Carmack, 36, for Permitting Unlawful Operation of a Motor Vehicle. MCSO deputy cited a 15 year old for No Operator’s License and Driving Uninsured. MCSO deputy cited a 15 year old for three counts of Theft III. He was cited and released with $4,500 bail. MCSO received a report o f a juvenile problem. MCSO received a request for a deputy concerning siphoned gasoline, tins stolen and vandal ism in lone. MCSO received a report of tools and gasoline stolen from a truck in Lexington. MCSO received a report from Columbia Middle School of a stu dent talking about bringing weap ons to school. MCSO received a report of a vehicle running over a fence. MCSO received a report o f rings stolen from an Irrigon resi dence. MCSO received a report of a storage unit burglary and property stolen. MCSO received a report of a male locking his dog and keys in the vehicle and the vehicle was running. Oregon State Police arrested Oscar Joseph Looney, 37, on a Morrow County warrant for Fail ure to Pay Fine/DUII. He was lodged at Norcor with $1,325 bail. Pendleton Police Dept, a r rested Christopher M. Smith, 20, on two counts Failure to Pay Fine/ MIP Alcohol, and Failure to Pay Fine/Cnminal Mischief. Bail was set at $582. Imgon Fire Dept, received a report of a fire. It was a controlled bum. Boardman Police Dept, officer reported he was out with three juveniles. A 17 year old juvenile was cited for Theft I and Burglary I, Possession of Less than One Oz. Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. MCSO deputy arrested a 14 year old juvenile for Burglary I and Theft I. MCSO deputy reported a run away juvenile in custody. MCSO received a report of a suspicious van dnving through the Services to Children and Families’ parking lot. Sept. 12: MCSO received a report of a male and female who were intoxicated, attempting to fight a w orker at Boardm an Foods. MCSO received a report of a panic alarm at the Morrow County Courthouse. It was a worker. MCSO received a request for assistance from Services to Chil dren and Families. MCSO, Oregon State Police, Boardman Police Dept, received a report o f a wrong-way driver on 1-84. Imgon ambulance received a 911 call with the caller seeming disoriented. MCSO received a report of a runawayjuvenile. MCSO received a report from an Imgon subject who said an other subject threatened to kill him. MCSO received a report of a vehicle hitting a fence at the ma nna and almost stnkmg a child. MCSO received a report of a barking dog in Imgon. MCSO received a report of a juvenile locked out of her house. The juvenile said she was not locked out, just sitting outside. MCSO received a report from a male subject in lone that he re ceived a hand gun in the mail. A Gilliam County Sheriffs deputy was to contact him. Boardman Fire Dept, received a rep o rt o f a grass fire in Boardman. It was a controlled bum. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a report of juveniles uri nating on the grass at Sam Boardman Elementary School. Boardm an P olice D ept., Boardman ambulance received a report of a motor vehicle accident with a deer on 1-84. Officers were unable to locate the accident. MCSO received a request from Umatilla County Sheriffs office to contact an Imgon resident con cerning warrants out o f Benson County, WA. MCSO deputy cited a 14 year old juvenile for six counts of Theft III, Theft II and Criminal Tres pass. Bail was set at $16,500. MCSO deputy cited Joseph Lee Swope for Hit and Run with Property Damage, Careless Driv ing, Driving while License Sus pended infraction and Driving Uninsured. Bail was set at $6,948. MCSO received a report of a car windshield cracked at Lamb Weston in Boardman the previous night. Imgon ambulance received a Sym phony to present free concert r-tm request for medical assistance. The patient was transported to Good Shepherd Community Hos pital in Hermiston. MCSO received a request for a deputy for two dogs that keep coming on the school grounds at Columbia Middle School. MCSO received a report of a restraining order violation. M CSO, B oardm an Police Dept, received a report o f a juve niles smoking pot by the Riverview Motel. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a report of a check from a closed account received. MCSO received a report that a male subject keeps threatening another male. MCSO received a report of a cell phone missing from a hay baler. MCSO received a request for an officer concerning an aban doned boat at the Irrigon Marina. MCSO received a request for information from a woman con cerning her rights as a parent if the school is accusing her child of assault. MCSO received a request to deliver a message concerning a family illness. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a request for an officer concerning a motor taken from an air conditioning unit. Oregon State Police received a report that a flat bed with a double trailer lost 2-3 bags of con crete that broke on 1-84, causing vision difficulties. MCSO deputy cited Javier Campos, 34, Hermiston, for Fail ure to Perform the Duties o f a Driving involved in a Motor Ve hicle A ccident with Property Damage, No Operator’s License and No Insurance. MCSO received a report of a possible subject in a hit and run seen in a parking lot. MCSO, Services to Children and Families received a report of possible child abuse. MCSO received a request for a deputy concerning a custody is sue. MCSO received a report of an Unauthorized Entry of a Motor Vehicle/Theft. Sept. 13: Boardman Police Dept, received a report o f a bike stolen from the Sandpiper Apts, parking lot. m lno,. MCSO received a report of a stop sign down on Liberty School Road. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a report of a problem con cerning a possible child abuse case. MCSO received a report of a vehicle speeding in a school zone near A.C. Houghton Elementary School. MCSO received a request for assistance from Services to Chil dren and Families for a family that needed to get their belongings from a residence. MCSO received a request for a deputy concerning dogs and a woman trespassing on property in Irrigon. Oregon State Police received a report o f two men who threw out half an elk with a bullet hole in it MCSO received a request for a deputy for an interview with a possible sex abuse victim. Heppner Police Dept, received a report that a juvenile stole items out of a vehicle. MCSO received a request for a deputy at Columbia Middle School to cite ajuvenile for MIP/ Tobacco. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a report of juveniles smok ing something near Riverview Motel. Officers were unable tq locate anyone. MCSO received a possible tip that items from a vehicle theft may be at an Irrigon residence. Heppner Police Dept, received a request for an officer concern ing a motor vehicle accident by Bucknum’s. MCSO received a report of a semi running a vehicle off the road. No one was in position to respond. MCSO received a report of a suspicious vehicle at an Irrigon residence. It was the neighbor’s vehicle. Oregon State Police received a report of two suspected drug users, both with suspended li censes, possibly driving. MCSO received a report of a neighbor’s dogs chasing a seven year old in Irrigon. MCSO received a report of a juvenile throwing a rock and breaking a window in a trailer. O regon State Police, Boardman Police Dept, received a report of three young juveniles reported hitchhiking earlier in Troutdale seen at 1-84 eastbound/ Highway 730 exit. MCSO received a report of a subject harassed by juveniles. Boardman Police Dept, re Leora Koel Leora Koel, Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home's November Resident o f the Month, was born Leora Taylor on June 30, 1923, at the Artesia Hospital in Artesia, CA. Leora was the middle child of six. She had three older brothers, John, Don and Charles, and two younger sisters, Ruth and Loretta. Her only living sibling, Loretta Sanford, and her husband, Bob, were in town from California to visit her October 4. On Nov. 3, 1940, Leora married Harry Koel in Yuma, AZ. They raised their four children in Lakewood CA. Their children are Deanna Lapre, Condon, Linda Luck, Greenlake, WI., Bill Koel, Reno, NV., and Don Koel, Bellflower, CA. She has seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Leora was a bookkeeper. She started out working for her brother who owned several grocery stores and she ran the post office inside the store. When he decided to close the post office, his bookkeeper taught her bookkeeping and she worked The Veteran's Auxiliary meeting has been changed to 7 p.m. at the United Methodist Church on Monday, November 27. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a gift for veterans. The American Legion meeting will also be held at 7 p.m. at the church. Men’s breakfast planned The Willow Creek Symphony will present a free concert at the Heppner Elementary Gym on Friday, November 17, at 7 p.m. A variety o f music will be performed, a large percentage of which is holiday music The Willow Creek Singers will be featured with the orchestra on "Canticle of Praise,” an arrangement of the hymn, "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King o f Creation." The Willow Creek Symphony is a combined youth and adult orchestra based in Heppner It is directed by R. Lee Fnese of Athena. Assistant director is Tony Mark of La Grande. This concert is funded by the Morrow County Unified Recreation District, Aid Association for Lutherans, the Samuel B. Johnson Foundation and Waste Connections, Inc. Snow driving tips With snow forecast at pass levels this weekend, Oregon Department o f Transportation officials are reminding travelers to prepare their vehicles for winter driving conditions and to drive with extra caution. Snow is forecast in most mountain areas at the 3,500 to 5,000 foot levels throughout the state. • Inspect windshield wipers and tires. Is your windshield washer tank filled with winterized fluid? • If you took tire chains out of the vehicle during the summer, put them back. Or purchase a set now so you'll have them for the entire season-they can be required anytime conditions warrant. • Make sure anti-freeze levels are adequate and that radiator hoses are in good shape. • Be sure the car's heater and defroster are working properly. PMNH resident of the month Veteran’s Auxiliary, Legion to meet The monthly men’s breakfast sponsored by the First Christian Church and the Christian Life Center will be held on Sunday, November 19. This month's breakfast will be at the Christian Life Center, 535 W. Morrow County Behavioral Health received a request for as sistance. Peterson's there for many years. Later she worked for a company that made marble bathroom sinks and the cabinets. She always balanced to the penny and enjoyed the work very much. Leora always enjoyed handwork and crafts. She said she had to keep her hands busy. She crocheted Afghans, tablecloths, etc. for all o f her relatives. She sewed her daughters' clothes and sewed for others as well, decorated cakes, and learned to oil paint in the 70s. She earned many ribbons for her oil paintings at the local Art Association. All her relatives and friends have one or moire o f her paintings hanging oh their walls. "Everything Leora made was made to perfection; she was taught by her mother that the inside should look as good as the outside," said a family member. Leora loved to play games. She and her husband belonged to a Pinochle card club for 30 years where six couples met once a month for a potluck and cards. She also played Bunco with her lady friends once a month for many years. . Leora enjoyed traveling and fishing with her husband in their motorhome. When they were both retired they would go on bus trips with the seniors. They enjoyed going to Las Vegas and Laughlin, NV. on the bus trips. Leora's husband passed away in 1991. In 1998 she moved to Condon with her daughter and her husband. She now lives at the Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home.
