Snow driving tips
With snow forecast at pass
levels this weekend, Oregon
Department o f Transportation
officials are reminding travelers
to prepare their vehicles for
winter driving conditions and to
drive with extra caution. Snow is
forecast in most mountain areas
at the 3,500 to 5,000 foot levels
throughout the state.
• Inspect windshield wipers and
tires. Is your windshield washer
tank filled with winterized fluid?
• If you took tire chains out of
the vehicle during the summer,
put them back. Or purchase a set
now so you'll have them for the
entire season-they can be
required anytime conditions
warrant.
• Make sure anti-freeze levels
are adequate and that radiator
hoses are in good shape.
• Be sure the car's heater and
defroster are working properly.
