Dave Fowler's Technology Awards: Outstanding Exploring Technology Students Blake Allstott, Cara Kennedy, O utstanding Applying Technology Student Stefanie Hanson. Erin Crowell awarded Legion Auxiliary Scholarship Oregon Department of the American Legion Auxiliary. The department awards approximately 25 scholarships each year to junior members who have been a part of the organization for at least three years. Requirements included four letters of recommendation, including class ranking and gpa, a letter from a clergyman and two citizens attesting to character, conduct, citizenship and leadership and an original 1000-word essay on the topic of "Creating safe, non-violent school settings encourages Erin Crowell lifelong learning." Erin Crowell has been awarded Erin is a graduate of the lone a $1,000 scholarship from the High School class of 2000. Troedson scholarships awarded The selection committee for the Carl W. Troedson Educational Fund has awarded grants-in-aid in the amount of $850 to the following Morrow County high school seniors for the 2000-2001 school year: Heppner High School-Trisha Adams, Clint Bellamy, Joey Bourne, Stephanie Clough, Jeffery Currin, Casey Ingraham, Abby Kahl. Kristen Marshall, Corey Miller. Erik Patton, Kim Pointer. Tracy Rankin, Macy Rhea. Ashley Ropp, Michael Schonbachler, Jeffrey Sneddon, Heidi Turrell, Matthew Van Liew and Alan Woodward; lone High School-Erin Crowell, Sybil Krebs, Mark McElligott, Miranda McElligott and Jacob Neiffer; Riverside High School-Cody Gordanier, Julie Mason, Angela McNamee. Jessica Moore. Jacob Plisek, Rachel Reyes, Derrin Tallman and Tara Totten. The grants are awarded from a fund provided by Carl Troedson who was a prominent wheat rancher in the lone area. The students will be eligible to apply for renewal of their grants in the following years of their college or training programs provided that they maintain good academic standing during their first year of post-high school study. The selection committee consists of the Morrow County School District assistant superintendent, the pastor of the Valby Lutheran Church and the Morrow County judge, as specified in Troedson's will. Troedson grant awards were announced at the recipients' respective high school graduation ceremonies.
