each year to junior members who
have been a part of the
organization for at least three
years.
Requirements included four
letters of recommendation,
including class ranking and gpa,
a letter from a clergyman and
two citizens attesting to
character, conduct, citizenship
and leadership and an original
1000-word essay on the topic of
"Creating safe, non-violent
school settings encourages

The grants are awarded from a
fund provided by Carl Troedson
who was a prominent wheat
rancher in the lone area.
The students will be eligible to
apply for renewal of their grants
in the following years of their
college or training programs
provided that they maintain good
academic standing during their
first year of post-high school
study.
The selection committee
consists of the Morrow County
School District assistant
superintendent, the pastor of the
Valby Lutheran Church and the
Morrow County judge, as
specified in Troedson's will.
Troedson grant awards were
announced at the recipients'
respective high school graduation
ceremonies.

Because of budgetary constraints,
Morrow County has found it necessary to terminate
financial support of the Morrow County Museum.
As o f July 1, 2000. administrative & financial responsibility
for the Morrow County Museum passes from Morrow County
to the Morrow County Museum Commission. It is the intention
of the Museum Commission to operate the Museum on a fully
volunteer basis. Opinions regarding the future of the
Morrow County Museum should be addressed to:
