Cattlem en’s meeting scheduled The Oregon Cattlemen's Association (OCA) Spring Quarterly board meeting will be held Feb. 18-19 at the Port of Morrow in Boardman. The board meeting will convene at noon on Friday, Feb. 18, and end at noon the next day. One catered dinner will be available. The agenda will include: consideration of changes to OCA's procedures and policies. Each county president has been mailed copies; an update from Brent Searle. Oregon Department of Agriculture, on a mediation program for permittees with the USFS; USFS changes for p e rm itte e s co n ce rn in g "implementation monitoring"; an Oregon Trail Beef update; a tour of the Port of Morrow by Director Greg Smith; duties and responsibilities of the board; and committee reports. "Attending this quarterly OCA meeting is a great opportunity for Morrow County producers to leam of the pressing issues of Oregon cattlemen," said Bill Broderick, OS'J Morrow County Extension agent. Gun Club holds shoot By Sandi Day The Morrow County Gun Club held their weekly shoot on a cold, foggy Sunday morning, but a hot pot o f chili made by Cindy Greenup kept everybody warm for the day. The 16-yard line winners were Harvey Childers and Rob Ash- beck in a tie for first, second went to Travis Greenup, and third to Barry Munkers and Mick Sharp. Rob Ashbeck also took first at the 20-yard line, followed by Harv ey Childers with second and Jeff Cutsforth with third. Bill Greenup won the Annie Oakley. The ladies had another good weekend with Bonnie Grant tak ing first at the 16-yard line, Sandi Day was second and Lacey Davis was third. The next shoot will be on Sun day, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. at the club house in Lexington. Food handler's class scheduled A Food Handler's Class will be offered by Blue Mountain Community College and the State Health Division on Wednesday, March 15, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Heppner High School Cafeteria. A food handler's card is required by the State of Oregon for all employees who handle or prepare food in food service facilities in Oregon. This includes dishwashers, waiters, staff and business persons. Additionally, the card is also required now of all day care workers. There is no charge for the class but a $10 licensing fee is payable to the State Health Department after successful completion of the written test. For more information, contact Anne Morter.
