In order to receive this award students must regularly attend meetings, participate in one or more service projects and help sell and/or deliver Christmas trees, the group's annual fund raiser. Students receiving awards were Katie Tworek, Mark McElligott, Nikki McElligott, Camie Burright, Miranda McElligott, Adrienne Swanson, Allison Halvorsen, Chanssa Gates, Korey Morgan, Jeremy Rietmann, Shelby Krebs, Jeremiah McElligott, Salli McElligott, Adam McCabe and Brad Burright. Youth group members received their awards at the fall organizational meeting. Earlier this spring seniors Niki Sullivan and Jessica Krebs received outstanding service awards for four years o f full participation in the group. lone Youth Group members will meet at 5 p.m. Sunday, October 31, at St. William's Catholic Church. That evening they will go door to door in lone to collect food for the Neighborhood Center's food baskets for the needy o f South Morrow County. Mustang C-team is 2-2-8 for the season Weston-McEwen C-team, 12-15, 4-15, and the Wahtonka JV team, 15-17,6-15, on September 25, in tournament play in Heppner. They tied with the Condon JV team, 8-15, 15-12. The Heppner team had pretty even scoring in the tournament game against Weston-McEwen, said coach Missy Cutsforth. Genia Grant had five service points and Cindy Gall, four, in the Wahtonka tournament game. In their tournament match-up with Condon, top scorers were Aleshia Geer with five, Molly Turrell with four and Nicole Sisk with three. The lone JV beat the Mustangs in two at home on September 28, 7-15, 1-15. The Mustangs lost to the LaGrande C-team in an away game on October 1,8-15 12-15. Molly Turrell scored eight service points in that game and Whitney Sherritt and Nicole Wilson, each made four. The C-team Mustangs won their first league game of the season against the Pilot Rock C- team on October 5 in three, 8-15, 15-4, 15-11. Nicole Sisk scored seven service points and Genia Grant, five. They lost to the Stanfield C- team in three on October 7 in another league match-up, 14-16, 15-9 and 2-15. In that game, Jesse Kempas was top scorer with 10 service points. Aleshia Geer made six and Megan Healy, five. On October 9, the Heppner girls took another league win over the Wahtonka C-team in two, 15-11, 15-6. Jesse Kempas scored another 10 points for the team; Tiffany Matheney, six, and Aleshia Geer, five. The C-team lost to the Weston McEwen C-team in three in an evenly matched game on October 12, 6-15, 15-6, 11-15. Tylynn Smith and Molly Turrell each earned eight points in that contest and Megan Healy, six. The Heppner team lost to Pilot Rock in an away game, 5-15, 13- 15. Molly Turrell made nine points and Nicole Sisk, four. The next C-team game was scheduled for Tuesday, October 19, at Stanfield. Heppner Police Dept, received a report of a strange-acting woman on Highway 74 outside of Hepp ner who was walking out in a field. A deputy advised she was hitch hiking to Pilot Rock. MCSO received a request for an extra patrol from a Boardman woman who felt unsafe from threatening notes she received. MCSO received a call from a man who said his hired hand’s car was disabled. Mike Leonard Stanley, 36, Imgon, was arrested for DU II-M otor Vehicle Accident. He had a blood alcohol level of .13. MCSO, Boardman and Uma tilla police depts., Imgon ambu lance received a report o f a do mestic dispute with eight people involved and backup was re quested. John Joseph Homer, 52, was arrested for Assault IV-Do- mestic Felony/Child Present and Criminal M ischief III. He was released on his own recognizance due to an injury and was trans ported by a deputy to Good Shep herd C om m unity H ospital in Hermiston. MCSO received a report o f a City of Imgon sewer pump going off and keeping neighbors awake. MCSO received a report from a woman that her ex-husband went into her storage shed and took her belongings. MCSO and Oregon State Po lice received a report from a deputy that he almost hit a llama on Highway 730. No Umatilla County deputy was available to handle the call. Sept. 28: Oregon State Police received a report o f a truck all over the road on 1-84 eastbound. MCSO, Imgon ambulance re ceived a request for assistance for a woman who had fallen and needed assistance getting up. Boardman Fire Dept received a report o f a fire alarm at River side High School. All was okay. MCSO received a report of a burglar alarm at Inland Empire Bank in Boardman. It was an employee error. MCSO received a report of dogs chasing horses in Irrigon. The caller painted orange on the dog and turned it loose if anyone calls. Heppner Police Dept, received a request for an officer from a man who wanted to talk to an of ficer about his son’s marijuana use. MCSO received a report of a su sp icio u s blue pick u p on Sandhollow Road. MCSO received a report of a horse found in Boardman. MCSO received a report o f a cabin off Hisler Road broken into and items missing. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a report o f dogs running loose. MCSO received a report from a man that the manager o f his trailer court quit and took some of the petty cash with her. MCSO received a report of a drive-off from the Cenex Store in Lexington. MCSO received a report from a deputy that he would check out suspicious activity past the high school. MCSO, Heppner ambulance, lone Quick Response Team re ceived a request for an ambulance for a 17 year old with heavy post partum bleeding. The patient was transported to Good Shepherd Community Hospital in Hermiston. Heppner Police Dept, received a request for an officer from a woman who said her son was cre ating problems. Morrow County Behavioral Health responded. MCSO received a request to respond to Praine Apts, for ten- ant/landlord problems. Oregon State Police received a report o f speeding semis going 70+ and driving carelessly on I- 84 eastbound. Heppner Police Dept, received a report from a woman that a male subject threw a rock and cracked her rear windshield. Irrigon Fire Dept, received a report of a fire alarm at an Irrigon residence. It was a false alarm. MCSO received a report of an intruder in a home in Boardman. All was okay. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a report of 2-3 dogs bark ing from a woman who said she didn’t want people to accuse her dogs o f barking. An officer was unable to locate any excessively barking dogs. MCSO received a request for assistance from a woman in lone who said her 15 year old daugh ter didn’t want to stay home. Sept. 29: MCSO received a report of a visibly drunk driver with a Boardman address who just left Umatilla. MCSO deputy arrested Fred Allen Silva, 37. Boardman He had a blood alcohol level o f . 10. Silva was cited and released. MCSO deputy arrested Scott N. Jansen, 21, Prosser. WA. on an Irrigon Justice Court warrant for Failure to Appear-Negotiating a Bad Check. Jansen was lodged at the UCSOjail. MCSO received a report of suspicious activity with two male subjects trying to start a Blazer or Bronco with one subject seen crawling out from under the fence at the bulk tanks. MCSO received a report o f a small fender-bender in Heppner. MCSO received a request for an officer concerning juveniles who have made threats at Colum bia Middle School in Imgon. They were detained in the office. Oregon State Police received a report of an erratic driver on I- 84 westbound. MCSO received a report o f approximately five boxes of blank checks stolen from lone.
