lone women's tennis team defeats Hood River The lone Women's Tennis Team traveled to The Dalles to compete with Hood River on Tuesday, April 20. . lone defeated Hood River four matches to three. Jessica Krebs lost to exchange student, Anja Stobbe, 3-8. Jessica started her match staying fairly competitive at 3-4 before Stobbe pulled away. Molly Barrow lost to Skye Wilson, 8-9, in a tie breaker. Both players were well matched as far as skills. The tie breaker score was 6-8. Jennifer Thompson was ahead 7-6 in her match against Jenny Perkins but was unable to complete the match due to an injury of another player that required medical care. Thompson had Perkins 5-2 The Wranglers Riding Club held their second playday on Sunday, Apnl 25. Results are as follows: Stickhorse race: first Brooke Davis, second Ryan Dougherty, third Casey Robertson, fourth Tate Gentry. McElligott was enjoying an easy lead but had an unfortunate mishap on the court and badly sprained her ankle, possibly ending her pursuit for the remainder of the season. Amellia Peck and Niki Sullivan defeated Sophie Thomson and Allison Whitesides, 8-5. Rosanne Baker and Katie Tworek lost to Aimee Cooper and Laura Vazquez, 6-8. Shelby Krebs and Allison Halvorsen posted a win against Aven Pendleton and Lorena Martinez, defeating the Hood River pair 8- 5. Museum to host treasures of Oregon exhibit Columbia River and Jackson Sundown's 1916 trophy saddle from the Pendleton Roundup, the exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Sunday and Monday. Ed-Net broadcast planned winds to raise funds Sixty-four bike riders braved less than ideal conditions at the annual lone Bike-a-thon on Sun day, April 25, said spokesperson Anne Morter. Funds raised from the event b en efit St. Jude bildren’s Research Hospital in emphis, TN'~ • * 7 ■■ Organizers consider the ride a success based on the amount of money raised and the level o f en thusiasm displayed by the partici pants, said Morter. Counting both courses, approximately'1245 bike miles were logged in a 3 1/2 hour span. Fifty riders in all age groups tackled the 22 mile Ruggs to lone route. Tom McElligott and Gaylin Fickel, both of Heppner, were the first riders in, arriving in one hour, 37 minutes.
