EIGHT - Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, January 27, 1999 Sheriff's Report MCSO received a report o f a person burning used motor oil in lone and the fumes were making the neighbors sick. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a request for an officer concerning a barking dog. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a request for an officer to listen to barking dogs in Board- man. The caller was just cited for his dog. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a report o f unwanted phone calls in Boardman. The caller be lieved someone was going to kid nap her daughter. The daughter was reported missing a short time later and then was located in front o f the police dept. Oregon State Police received a report of a small red car that peeled out of the parking lot at the Nugget Inn in Boardman. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a report o f a female sub ject who allegedly stole a bottle of beer from the Boardman BP station. They were unable to do anything until they were able to look at the tapes the next day as no one saw her walk out with the beer. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a report o f a female sub ject who put a bottle o f beer in her coat and took it to the restroom to drink it at the Boardman Texaco station. She ran off when con fronted. Subject was possibly the same subject as in the previous entry. M CSO dep u ty arre ste d Manuel Claustro de la Cruz, 38, for DUII. MCSO, Irrigon ambulance re ceived a report o f a 31 year old female subject who had just left the Irrigon BP station, had con sumed several different prescrip tion drugs and had been drinking alcohol. Poison Control advised that with that com bination o f drugs, she could to into cardiac arrest within an hour. The subject was located at Sandcastle Apts, and transported to Good Shepherd Community Hospital in Hermiston. Heppner Police Dept, received a report of a suspicious person hanging around the com er o f Church Street. Jan. 11: MCSO received a re port of dogs fighting all night for the second time in a row. lone Fire Dept, received a re port of a freezer exploding with a lot o f smoke and possibly some flames. Everything was okay. MCSO received a report o f someone parking in the parking lot o f Columbia Middle School and sleeping with the car running. The car left the lot before kids arrived in the morning. M CSO , B oardm an P o lice Dept, received a report o f a white yearling cow out on Wilson and Paul Smith roads in Boardman. The cow was kept at a neighbor’s. ,MCSO received a report o f a torch and tools stolen from a con struction site over the weekend. MCSO received a report Qf a neighbor’s Rottweiler attacking a dog. Columbia Middle School re quested a deputy to cite a 13 year old juvenile for MIP-tobacco. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a report of a calf out on Wilson and Paul Smith roads. MCSO received a report o f an old hollowed-out trailer moved onto someone else’s property in Imgon. M CSO deputy arrested L eobardo Jacques, 47, on a MCSO warrant for Failure to Pay Fine/DUII. Jacques was lodged at the USCO jail. MCSO, Irrigon ambulance re ceived a report o f a person hav ing an insulin reaction. MCSO received a report of a woman walking into a farmhouse on Highway 74, saying, “I want to own a house someday,” and acting strangely. Melinda Nichols, 34, was ar rested by M CSO deputy for Criminal Trespass I. Nichols was transported to UCSO jail. MCSO received a report of a boy running away from home in Irrigon. Since it was his second time, his probation officer advised he would put out a warrant for him. MCSO, Oregon State Police, Boardm an Fire D ept, and Boardman ambulance received a report of a head-on motor vehicle accident on Poleline Road involv ing a possible intoxicated driver. Both drivers refused transport. Kathy Jean Williams, 43, was ar rested for DUII-MVA and on a warrant for Theft I. MCSO received a report of a subject at a residence in Irrigon who refused to leave and who was yelling and screaming. MCSO received a report of a deputy putting a deer down. Jan. 12: MCSO received a re port o f a construction crew com ing to work on a carport who were not supposed to be there. MCSO received a report o f a suspicious vehicle east o f the golf course in Boardman. MCSO received a report o f expected trouble in Irrigon with a male subject believed to be plan ning to harass his parents. MCSO received a request for a deputy in Irrigon concerning a juvenile problem. MCSO deputy arrested Tony Ramirez, 54, for a Umatilla County warrant for Failure to Appear- D riving W hile L icense S u s pended. MCSO received a report from a man that people were taking pic tures o f his residence while the window curtains were open in Irrigon. MCSO received a request for a deputy to stand by in case of trouble at the Irrigon City Council meeting that night. Sherman County Sheriff’s of fice received a request for a deputy regarding a sandwich in cident that happened a month ago. MCSO received a request for a deputy concerning a male sub ject throwing rocks at a vehicle. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a report from a woman that her neighbors gave her a bad time and flipped her off. Heppner Police Dept, arrested Joseph Kindle, 18, on a warrant for Criminal Mischief I, Criminal Mischief II, Theft II. Kindle was lodged at the UCSO jail. Jan. 13: MCSO, Boardman ambulance received a report of a 77 year old woman with emphy sema having breathing problems. The patient was transported to Good Shepherd Community Hos pital in Hermiston. Sherman County S heriffs of fice, Oregon State Police received a report o f a male threatening to commit suicide by shooting him self. A woman had called a psy chic hotljne and had given her home number to the male subject. The subject had called her back and said he was going to kill him self. The woman’s daughter was upset with the mother for giving her phone number out. The male subject was located at Biggs and all was okay. MCSO received a request for a deputy to cite a student with Disorderly Conduct. The request was cancelled and the student was under control and cooperating. MCSO deputy assisted Irrigon ambulance with a female who had collapsed in the street in Irrigon. MCSO, Boardman Fire Dept, received a report of a vehicle fire on Patterson Ferry overpass on 1-84. The vehicle was fully en gulfed. MCSO received a request for an officer from a woman who said her daughter was on some kind of drug. MCSO received a report from a woman in Irrigon that her run away son was probably at her ex- husband’s place. MCSO received a report of an injured deer out of Lexington. Jan. 14: MCSO received a re port from a woman in Boardman that her husband had threatened her. Heppner Police Dept, received a report o f a pickup taken from CBEC. The pickup was located oh Slaughterhouse Road. lone Fire Dept, received a re port o f a large amount of smoke in the Lower Creek area. No fire was located. lone Fire Dept, received a re port o f a large brush fire on High way 74. It was ditches that were being burned. Heppner Police Dept, received a report o f a garbage can run over intentionally. MCSO received a report of a male subject riding a four-wheeler in a private drive. MCSO received a report from a man in Lexington that his daugh ter had received a strange phone call. Heppner Police Dept, received a request for an officer from a house guest who had been ha rassed. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a report of a car broken into at Riverside High School. Jan. 15: MCSO received a re port o f two dogs chasing horses and wildlife in Boardman. MCSO received a report of a theft of a saw table, level and two boxes o f nails from the site o f a house under construction in lone. MCSO received a report o f 10 kids riding bikes on a makeshift ramp at the Irrigon Marina Park with none wearing helmets. Heppner Police Dept, received a report o f tagging of the letters WSC 187 written on the cement retaining wall near the Pioneer Memorial Hospital helipad. Heppner Police Dept, received a report o f a cat killed and hung in a doorw ay o f a residence in Heppner. MCSO received a report of an intoxicated man who got his ve hicle stuck near the gravel pit in Boardman. The man threatened his son-in-law with a tire iron. MCSO received a request for an officer concerning a domestic dispute. The problem was worked out and the caller no longer needed assistance. M CSO deputy stopped a speeding vehicle in Boardman. MCSO received a report o f two young adults walking toward Boardman on 1-84. M CSO , B oardm an Police Dept., Boardman ambulance re ceived a request for an ambulance for a man having an asthma at tack. He refused transport. M CSO and Heppner Police Dept, received a report of two MIP parties, one at Mt. Glen Apts, and one in Lexington. HPD cited eight juveniles (five 15 year olds, two 16 year olds and one 17 year old) for MIP-Consumption. Jan. 18: MCSO received a re port o f a restraining order viola tion. A male subject had called a woman bad names on the phone and hung up. MCSO received a report of extreme quiet on Knapp Road in Irrigon, with no dogs barking or anything. A male subject reported something big in a bush, possibly a cougar. An officer was unable to locate anything. MCSO received a report of a cell phone stolen from a vehicle that was broken into at Riverside High School. MCSO received a report from Pioneer Memorial Hospital of four people, including three teenagers, involved in a rollover accident by Sandhollow. The vehicle was dam aged, but no serious injuries oc curred. Melissa Cutsforth, 18, and a 16 year old were cited for MIP- Consumption. MCSO received a report of a suspicious person at a residence in Irrigon. A male asked if the resi dents lived in their home all the time and then drove off. MCSO received a report of sugar put in the gas tank o f a loader the day after New Year’s Day at Boardman Chip Co. MCSO received a request for extra patrol at an Irrigon resi dence. MCSO, Irrigon ambulance re ceived a report of a child scream ing in a field near Riverview Trailer Court. The woman volunteered to go to the detox cen ter and transported there, MCSO received a report of a hit and run accident in Irrigon. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle and the owner as it had been recently sold. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a report from a woman that the manager o f an apartment com plex in Boardman was playing loud music in the empty apt. below her on purpose. Boardman Police Dept, cited a 17 year old for Unreasonable Sound Am plification, Driving W hile License Suspended and Driving Uninsured. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a report of someone knock ing on a bedroom w indow in Boardman. Four subjects in a small grey four-door vehicle were seen. An officer was unable to locate anyone. Heppner Police Dept, received a report o f a juvenile runaway from Heppner at an abandoned house in Hermiston. The juvenile was located and the mother was contacted to pick her up at the . police dept. Jan. 19: MCSO received a re port o f a suspicious vehicle in ♦ Imgon driving by a house at least four times without their lights on. MCSO deputy cited and re leased Lisa N. Anderson, 36, for DUII. M CSO deputy a rre ste d Leonard Tainewasher, 33, for Pa role Violation-Driving While Li cense Suspended felony. MCSO received a report o f vandalism at the upper end o f the dam. MCSO received a report o f a 12 year old girl from Irrigon who has runaway again and was stay ing at a trailer park in Boardman. MCSO received a request for a deputy from Columbia Middle School for a theft citation and to look into vandalism. MCSO received a report of two rural addressing posts stolen. Oregon State Police received a report of a woman who tried to get into a vehicle at a park at Biggs. The woman wore a coat with M ickey M ouse on it, blue ( sweatpants and three gold neck laces. Oregon State Police, Board- , man Police Dept, received a re port of a black Chevrolet Blazer driving 100+ mph. The vehicle was stopped east of the Boardman exit and was clocked by OSP as doing 103-104 mph. MCSO received a report o f a house burglarized in Irrigon while the occupant was on vacation. Heppner Police and Fire depts. received a report o f kids finding a bottle that looked like an oxygen bottle, but had “NOS” written on Boardm an Police Dept, re ceived a report of a possible shop lifting at Sentry Market. A 10 year old juvenile was cited for Theft ID. MCSO received a report o f three 4-wheelers on property on Olsen Road in Boardman. Boardman ambulance received a report of a 61 year old man ex periencing problems breathing. MCSO, Boardman ambulance received a report o f a 68 year old man in Boardman who was un conscious and not breathing. CPR was in progress and the patient was transported to Good Shepherd Community Hospital in Hermiston. Jan. 16: B oardm an Police Dept, received a report o f a man standing on a person’s porch in Boardman pounding on the door and yelling that he was lost. The man, who was intoxicated, was given a ride home. MCSO received a report o f a large dog kept in a 6’ run at a resi dence in Irrigon. The dog barked all the time and was believed to be neglected. MCSO received a report o f an audible alarm at A.C. Houghton in Irrigon. MCSO received a request for a deputy concerning a dispute over a vehicle. MCSO received a report o f a road hazard at Lindsay Canyon and Bombing Range Road. MCSO received a report of a male subject who left his mother’s residence in lone intoxicated. M CSO deputy arrested Michael D. Scott, 18, on a war rant for Theft III and local charges of resisting arrest. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a report o f $55 taken from a woman’s wallet in Boardman. Condon ambulance received a report of.a 17 year old male with possible alcohol poisoning. A male subject was cited for supplying alcohol to minors. * MCSO received a report o f a couch in the middle o f the road on Highway 730. MCSO received a report o f a cow dog found at the mill in Hepp ner. MCSO deputies backed up the Umatilla Police Dept, at a large fight at C h a rlie ’s T avern in Umatilla. Boardman Police Dept, re ceived a report o f a car parked in the middle o f the road outside a residence and honking its horn. MCSO and Heppner Police Dept, received a report o f a pos sible drunk driver north o f Lex ington who was all over the road. The vehicle was followed into Heppner and then lost. Jan. 17: MCSO received a re port o f a missing juvenile located in Idaho. MCSO received a report from a woman in Boardman that her husband had not returned home after work and it was 3:39 a.m. MCSO and Boardman Police Dept, received a report o f a male subject trying to get into a house w here he w asn’t wanted. The subject was suspected o f being involved in a shooting of a police officer in Mexico and the officers were advised to use extreme cau tion. Oregon State Police received a re p o rt from a w om an in Boardman that her husband was still not home and it was 7:32 a.m. OSP advised that the m an’s ve hicle had rolled on 1-84 milepost 182 but the vehicle had been there awhile and no one was around. MCSO received a report from a woman in Alabama that she lost money on a Beanie Baby scam. MCSO, Heppner Police Dept, received a report o f a possible propane pipe rupture on Highway 730 east o f 1-84. It turned out to be a waterline.
