The varsity Mustangs took game one with their first server, Jill Barber, scoring the first seven points. Pilot Rock had a solo point when Brooke Boyer went behind the service line to serve points eight and nine. Then, after the Rockets put in four more serves. Barber put them away, serving points 10- • 15 for the Mustangs to win, 15- 5. Game two was a wash out with the Mustangs down 0-9 before they were able to post any counters. Although Heppner was finally able to pull within two points, 12-14, it was "too little too late" and the Rockets took the second game 12-15. The Mustangs regrouped for game three, and, with 92 percent team service success, completely defueled the Rockets to take the game, 15-4, and the match. ELECT JOHN F. MOLLAHAN Morrow County Judge There are issues concerning the county that I will strive to solve. I will be there for the people and their county. I have the ability, knowledge, insight and innovation to serve as your County Judge and commissioner. I ¥ Barber put over 16 of 17 serves while Janelle Healy and Jaci Hughes served 14/14 and 9/9, respectively. Casey Ingraham was marked for nine kills from hits, tips or blocks, with Healy making five kills. The junior varsity Mustangs looked like tired little ponies as they just managed to take their match. 13-15, 15-10, 15-12. In game one, the JVs watched as the Pilot Rock squad erased their 9-3 lead with a single server. From that point forw ard the Rockets appeared to control the game with the Mustangs trying to play "catch-up" and then dropping game one, 13-15. The Mustangs were down 7-9 in the second game when Ashley Ropp went back to score points eight-14; then Laurie Michael served game point to keep the Mustangs in the match. The Rockets kept game three interesting as the lead went back and forth. Even after the Mustangs pulled to a 14-10 lead the Rockets were able to jet to point 12 before committing a service error and Ropp finished it up by serving game point. Abby Kahl had 10 kills for the match from hitting and tipping, and served a perfect 9/9. Stephanie Clough was also 100 percent from behind the service line, serving 12 for 12, and Ropp went 16/17. The Mustang Cs dropped their match, 10-15, 13-15. Although the score in game one see sawed, the Cs held a four-point advantage (10-6) until the Rockets blasted back to tie the score and then turned on their afterburners to take the win. The Mustang Cs looked like they would take the second game with a 10-4 lead when the Rockets put it into gear and edged up to nine. Serves from Brett Barber and Meghan Bailey put Heppner ahead, 13-9, but they were unable to maintain the lead and lost game two, 13-15. h JOHN F. The facility will be sited on vacant Department of Corrections-owned land adjacent to the Two Rivers Correctional Institution. A release from State Senator Eileen Qutub. Beaverton, said that the Umatilla site was superior because of strong community support and savings of over S60 million (S33 million on prison development costs and $30 million on debt serv ice and financing costs). The site is adjacent to the Two Rivers Correctional Institution currently under construction. No schools or homes bordered the land and no land needed to be condemned, said Qutub. In addition to Umatilla, siting committee members visited Huntington, Pilot Rock. Elgin, Ontario, Sweet Home and Canyonville. r \>w Copy Machine! Hpppnpr-(la/p(tp J
