Here is your chance to see what is great about Morrow County youth - attend the Morrow County Fair Awards program, Saturday, August 22, at 4:30 p.m. in the Livestock Pavilion. The Awards Program is a must for 4-H and FFA youth, parents and leaders and anyone who enjoys young people. At the Awards Program, the 4- H and FFA awards are given, as well as the Open Class Creative Hand Award. It is always fun to see older youth receive the traditional "Grand Champion" and "Outstanding..... " awards. Most awards are purchased by the Morrow County 4-H Leaders Council with funds raised by volunteers through the donor campaign or Snack. Encourage family, neighbors and friends of 4-H members to attend the awards program and congratulate youth for their participation in the 1998 Morrow County Fair. "Morrow County has many who sew beautiful garments and we would like to invite these people to enter some of their garments for others to enjoy," says LaRae Kindle, fair secretary. "We have divisions for the standard machine and also for the overlock. There are classes for every garment. If something has been overlooked, bring your garment anyway. Additional classes will be added to accommodate any clothing article,” adds, Kindle. Get involved in the Morrow Co. Fair We go to the Morrow County Fair to look at the flowers, watch the 4-H members compete, and check out the livestock. But there is no doubt that fairs are always more fun if we are part of the event. We still have time to participate. The fair opens to the public on August 19, but exhibits are accepted on Monday, August 17. Tum through your Morrow County Fair Premium Book right now and look at all the opportunities to be part of the fun. We can enter vegetables, fruits and flowers from our gardens, wearable art and -needlework. Don't overlook the chance to exhibit home-preserved foods, just be sure to use up-to-date recommendations for processing. There is a special Creative Hands Award for the Outstanding Exhibitor in Home Economics divisions, based on total points for awards earned in clothing, needlework, preserving, foods, art and craft divisions.
