Do you ever feel there is too
much emphasis placed on what is
wrong with youth today? Here is
your chance to see what is great
about Morrow County youth -
attend the Morrow County Fair
Awards program, Saturday,
August 22, at 4:30 p.m. in the
Livestock Pavilion.
The Awards Program is a must
for 4-H and FFA youth, parents
and leaders and anyone who
enjoys young people.
At the Awards Program, the 4-
H and FFA awards are given, as
well as the Open Class Creative
Hand Award. It is always fun to
see older youth receive the
traditional "Grand Champion"
and "Outstanding..... " awards.
But is also fun to see younger
members receive the "Champion
Junior Cookie Maker” or "Most
Enthusiastic Beginner Livestock

In an effort to attract more open
class clothing entries to the
county fair, the clothing classes
have been expanded and more
detailed in the premium book.
"Morrow County has many who
sew beautiful garments and we
would like to invite these people
to enter some of their garments
for others to enjoy," says LaRae
Kindle, fair secretary. "We have
divisions for the standard
machine and also for the
overlock. There are classes for
every garment. If something has
been overlooked, bring your
garment anyway. Additional
classes will be added to
accommodate any clothing
article,” adds, Kindle.

We go to the Morrow County
Fair to look at the flowers, watch
the 4-H members compete, and
check out the livestock. But
there is no doubt that fairs are
always more fun if we are part of
the event.
We still have time to
participate. The fair opens to the
public on August 19, but exhibits
are accepted on Monday, August
17. Tum through your Morrow
County Fair Premium Book right
now and look at all the
opportunities to be part of the
fun.
We can enter vegetables, fruits
and flowers from our gardens,
wearable art and -needlework.
Don't overlook the chance to
exhibit home-preserved foods,
just be sure to use up-to-date
recommendations for processing.
