Rathbun says that last year in Oregon 216 people were killed in alcohol-related traffic crashes and drinking and driving remains the leading cause of death among teenagers, not to mention an increase in the number of crashes and fatalities during the holiday season. "Sober Solutions" was developed as a holiday campaign aimed at raising awareness of the risks of drinking and driving. The campaign features a 27-page guide highlighting non-alcoholic beverage recipes from 39 restaurants and associations statewide as well as tips for responsible entertaining and safe driving during the holiday season and throughout the year. "Sober Solutions" brochures are now available at several locations throughout the city.
