Marquardt honored Lance Marquardt, 18, the grandson of Rena and Bill Marquardt, Lexington recently made his 1000th point in basketball in only three years as a senior member of the Connell Eagles team. Lance, who was presented a basketball for his accomplishment, is the son of Rick and Chanty Marquardt of Connell Maternal grandparents are Hazel and Harold Beggs, formerly of lone, now living in Washington. Men's breakfast scheduled, Feb. 16 A community men’s breakfast, sponsored by the First Christian Church, the Nazarene church, and Christian Life Center will be held Sunday Feb. 16 at the Chnstian Life Center at 8a.m. Breakfast will be followed by a devotion from God’s word with an opportunity for fellowship with other men. The group is currently working through the seven promises o f a Promise Keeper. All men and boys are welcome to attend. HHS seniors plan bottle drive The Heppner High School Senior Class will hold a can and bottle drive, Thursday, February 13, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Heppner and Lexington. Anyone who would like to donate, but will not be home may leave their cans and bottles and they will be picked up Proceeds will go towards the seniors' drug and alcohol free trip. After a short business meeting and exchange of secret sister gifts were received and names for the following year was drawn. All members were remembered with cards and Tetters. Plans were made for the March card party, which will be held the first Sat. in March. Lovely refreshments were served to the group by the Oddfellow Lodge and a door prize for the ladies was received by Joyce Buchanan. -:- Lexington Grange will beet the third Sunday, Feb. 16 at 1p.m. with a pancake supper furnished and prepared by the men of the Grange. The speaker will be Fred Toombs who will talk on deregulation of the electrical industry. -:- Ned and Kathy Clark with Cecil and Delpha Jones attended the Grange Leadership meeting at Tillicum Grange, Sunday evening. The evening started with a potluck dinner. State Master Luttrell and State Lecturer Susan Noah were present to conduct the meeting.
