Goodies include a clawfoot tub, a bread machine, a dome tent, food dehydrator, a Dirt Devil vacuum and a Pendleton woolen blanket. The St. Patrick's celebration auction committee is still accep ting donations for its annual auction, set for Sunday, March 17, at 1 p.m. at the Morrow County fair pavilion. Viewing will begin that day at 11 a.m. Items donated so far range from new merchandise from private citizens and Oregon businesses to used and collec tible items. Many Hermiston and Pendleton businesses are joining the Heppner merchants in support of the auction, said auction chair Doris Brosnan. Donations have also been received from Salem, Portland and Newport. Committee members can vassed much of Heppner last week. This Tuesday, March 5, they and their leprechaun were in Pendleton, and on Wednes day they visited Hermiston to solicit support. Donations will be accepted through Friday, March 15. However, the committee em phasizes that the program of auction items must be printed on Saturday, so their efforts would run smoother if dona tions came in no later than W ednesday or Thursday, March 13-14. Triad Auctioneers of Arling ton will again handle the auc tioning of items, with many Heppner volunteers, including the Heppner chief of police, assisting them. To make donations, call 676-5382 or send to: Rt. 2, Box 2397, Heppner. Auction proceeds will help fund community needs, said Brosnan. In previous years, the auction has helped fund the South Morrow County Scholar ship and playground equip ment at the city. Preceding the start of the auc tion, the South Morrow Coun ty Scholarship committee begins a lamb barbecue in the annex of the fair pavilion which continues to 3 p.m. The St. Paddy's team roping takes place in the rodeo arena, star ting at 11 a.m. Marriage Licenses The Morrow County Clerk's office at the courthouse in Heppner reports issuing the following marriage license dur ing the past week: March 4: Teruo Chinen, Jr., 23, Heppner; and Kimberley Wicklund, 22, Heppner. Mark Schlichting shot a 22 to take se cond place. Jim Eynetich shot a score of 21 to win the handicap event. Cutsforth, Kelwayne Hague- wood, Tim Hedman and Roger Mortimore tied at 19 for second. This Sunday, March 10, the Gun Club will open at 10 a.m. to begin a 100-bird shoot. Trap- shooters will be grouped accor ding to their skills.
