The lady Cardinals jumped to a 25-4 first quarter lead, then the bench came in and added 15 more to take a commanding lead at the half 40-14. The second half was a repeat of the first as the Cardinals con tinued to roll to a decisive vic tory 75-28, The team posted a season high 22 assists, lead by Kim Bedortha with seven. Ten of the Cardinals found their way to the scoring column. Melissa McElligott and Anne Dombrowski each had 13 points and Mary Jane McCarty and Becky Wagenblast had 10 points apiece. The lady Cardinals clinched a playoff spot in the district tournament which will be held February 24 and 25. The lady Cardinals improved their record to 16-2 on the seaon and are a perfect 8-0 in league play. CAPECO expects to receive over $300,000 in Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) funds and serve approx imately 130 youth during the 1995 Summer Youth Employ ment and Training Program. It will concentrate on basic skills training, academic enrich ment activities, work ex perience, on-the-job training, limited internship, pre-employ ment skills training, and job specific skills training. This project is designed to re introduce fire into the eco system to reduce the buildup of natural fuels. This project will also improve the quantity and quality of forage for big game and domestic livestock.
