Oregon Wednesday, January 11, 1995 "Adventures In Faith", the Friday school held at Hope Lutheran church in Heppner and co-sponsored by All Saints Episcopal Church will resume sessions this Friday, Jan. 13 at 9 a.m. The group will continue their Bible journeys. This week's lesson will take the children on a "Castle Cruise" which will keep them busy until 3 p.m. Hope Lutheran meeting Feb. 5 The annual congregational meeting of Hope Lutheran Church of Heppner, originally scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 15, has been changed by action of the church council to Sunday, Feb. 5. The meeting will follow the 11 a.m. communion service and church potluck dinner. Sunday, Jan. 15, the con gregation will return to the Green Book setting of the Ho ly Communion service. Pastor Stan Hoobing will preach on the theme of "Hope in the Midst of Disappointment", based on the scripture reading of Isaiah 62:1-5. Get your two and three legged beasts in shape. The Oregon Trail Pro Rodeo committee is planning several motorcycle and four-wheeler races on Thursday of fair week at the OTPR arena. The entry fee is $25 and the race is open to anyone. Admission will be free. The committee is also selling tickets for a four-wheeler to be raffled off St. Patricks weekend during the auction. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchas ed from any committee member. The New Year's Eve Pro Rodeo in Walla Walla, WA. was a success for Randi Britt of Echo and Janice Davis of Her- miston. They both placed well. The Columbia River circuit finals Pro Rodeo was held in Yakima, WA. at the Sun Dome on January 6, 7 and 8. The top 15 in the circuit qualified. Mor row County was well represented and placed well. In barrel racing, Randi Britt won the average and Janice Davis was second. Kelly Currin, Heppner, placed third in the second go and Judy Pederson, Hermiston, placed second in the first go. In calf roping, Dave Cannon of Hermiston won the first go and Jerry Gentry, Heppner, placed second in the first go. In steer wrestling, Tony Currin placed second in the average. In Saddle bronc, Mitch Gregg of Hermiston split second place in the first go.
