All Saints to begin Sunday School All Saint's Episcopal Church will begin Sunday school for children and adults this Sun day, September 18. Fr. A1 Miller will lead an adult study of the Gospel of Mark. This class will begin at 10 and will be "a lecture format using scholastic interpretation methods to unlock faithful meaning from the text for to day's seeker and believer," said Fr. Miller. Holy Eucharist will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the singing of hymns. Children will go to Sunday school during the first part of the worship service and return for communion. This is a new concept at All Saints' this year. Everyone is encouraged to attend services any Sunday. All Saints', in cooperation with Hope Lutheran, is getting ready to host the Adventures In Faith program on Fridays when there is no school. Other op portunities to reach out to one another and the community are forming at this time, said Fr. Miller. Monthly singspiration at lone Singspiration, a monthly in terfaith service of singing favorite hymns, will be held at lone United Church of Christ on Sunday, September 18, at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be serv- ed afterwards in a time of fellowship. Special music is encouraged, both vocal and instrumental. The service is sponsored by the South Morrow County Ministerial Association. it Patrick’s Senior Center Bulletin Board One hundred two people were present for the senior meal September 7. Four meals were taken out. Members of the lutheran Church served. Lynn Bibby and Alberta Johnnes were the hosteses. H-raring aid assistance was given and blood pressures taken before the meal. The menu for Sept. 21 will be barbecued hamburger over a bun, oven French fries, cole slaw, bar cookies and fruit. Members of the Mormon Church will serve. A blood pressure clinic will be before the meal. Twelve seniors folded newsletters for the Extension Service Sept. 8. There was one table of pinochle in play and several other seniors visited or worked on the puzzle Friday afternoon. Gene Cole drove the senior bus and Dot Halvorsen drove the van, both well loaded with passengers, to Pendleton Saturday evening Sept. 10, where the group enjoyed dinner at the King's Table and the Dress Up Parade. Sunday evening 10 people watched the movie "National Velvet". Quilters and Company will start meeting again Monday, Sept. 19, in the dining room from 1 to 4 p.m. Anyone wishing to learn to quilt is welcome to come. The BMCC knitting class taught by Sandra VanLiew will begin Thursday, Sept. 29, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The senior bus will depart at 9 a.m. Sept. 23 for the tip to the Milton-Freewater meal site. The bus trip to the Condon meal site Sept. 29 will leave at 10 a.m. Sign-up sheets for both trips are in the Senior Center office. Dates to remember: Monday, quilting 1-4 p.m.; Thurs, kni tting 7:30-9 p.m.; Fri. cards, 2 p.m., cards; Sun. movie, 7 p.m. The Red Cross Blood Drive for Sept. 27 has been cancelled. Grains commission plans meeting The Oregon Grains Commis sion will hold a regular com mission meeting on Wednes day, September 21, beginning at 8 p.m. via conference call. Commission meetings are open to the public and anyone wishing to attend is welcome to do so. Contact the Oregon Grains Commission 48 hours in advance so that necessary ar rangements can be made.
