Wright was held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham on Wednesday, July 14, 1993. Mrs. Wright, 76, of Heppner, died Friday, July 9, 1993 at Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Heppner. She was bom Aug. 19, 1916 at Portland to Frank and Hazel Lance Hamlin. She grew up at Gresham and attended schools there. On March 17, 1934, she mar ried Joe E. Wright at Walla Walla. They moved to Heppner where they operated Hamlin's Tavern. She also owned and operated the flower shop in Heppner for several years. In 1965 they moved to Gresham, returning to Heppner this past year. Survivors include her husband Joe at the home; daughter Judy Buschke, of Heppner; five grand children and three g reat grandchildren. A daughter, Joan Grey, died in 1990. Foster Walter Arlan Foster, 53, of Heppner, died Wednesday, June 30, 1993 at Heppner. A memorial service was held at the Heppner Bowling alley on Saturday, July 10. Mr. Foster was bom Sept. 14, 1939 at Canyon City to Gerold and Hilda Holdeman Foster. He grew up in the Pacific Nor thwest area where his parents worked with carnivals and through the years attended 11 dif ferent schools. After graduating from high school he went into business purchasing and operated Gay Way Rides. He retired in 1974. On May 26, 1975, he married Ida Cluff at Oliver, British Col umbia, Canada. He then worked in packing sheds and bowling alleys, moving to Heppner in 1991 to manage Heppner Bowl. Ill health forced him to stop working. Mr. Foster enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting and the outdoors. Survivors include his wife, Ida at the home; daughters Susan Mena of New Plymouth, Idaho and Kay Foster of Pilot Rock; sons William of Selah, WA., Wayne of Wenatchee, WA., Earl and Jerry, both of New Plymouth and Shawn of Heppner; his mother Hilda Williams of Hepp ner; a brother James of Spokane, WA and eight grandchildren. Two grandchildren and his father died earlier. Memorial contrbutions may be made to a charity of choice through Herring Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA. 99362. Anna S. Johnson A memorial service for Anna S. Johnson was held at Hope Lutheran Church, in Heppner on Saturday, July 10. A burial ser vice will be held later at Norman Cemetery in Kindred, N.D. Ms. Johnson, 80, of Heppner, died Sunday, July 4, 1993 at Pioneer M em orial Nursing Home. She was born June 30, 1913 at Kindred, N .D., to Carl and Amanda Johanson Johnson. She grew up at Kindred and attended school there. She trained as a licensed prac tical nurse and practiced at Fargo, N.D. and Lisbon, N.D. at Pendleton and at Portland before she retired in 1975 and moved to Heppner. She had been a resident of the Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home for the past two years. Survivors include nieces Rikka Tews of lone, and Rosella Robin son of Scottsdale, Ariz; nephews, Henry Trangsrud of Kindred, Charles Trangsrud, Winnetka, 111 and James Trangsrud of Tempe, Ariz. Two sisters died earlier. Correction A story in the July 7 Gazette- Times, concerning an accident in Boardman, involving Morrow County Sheriff s deputy Mark Calbick was incorrect. Alvaro Orrala-Herrera was eastbound on Kunze Road around 10:05 p.m. on July 3 in Board- man when he veered into the westbound lane and sideswiped a Morrow County patrol car driven by C albick. A fter O rrala- H e rre ra 's vehicle struck Calbick's patrol car, Orrala- Herrera's vehicle struck a van driven by Meri Lynn Hurd, Boardman. Hurd was westbound on Kunze Road behind Calbick. H urd's vehicle did not sideswipe Calbick's vehicle, as earlier reported to the Gazette- Times by an Oregon State Police dispatcher. Orrala-Herrera and Hurd were transported to Good Shepherd Community Hospital in Her miston where they were treated and released. Investigation is continuing and charges are pending according to Oregon State Police Officer in charge, Don Christensen. Justice Court __ Report The Justice Court office at the courthouse annex building in Heppner reports handling the following business during the past week: Brian Kelly Bissinger, 42, Hermiston-Exceeding the Max imum Speed Limit, 78 mph in a 55 mph zone, $106 fine; Michael Charles Jones, 18, Lexington-Exceeding the Max imum Speed Limit, 65 mph in a 55 mph zone, $29 fine; Kristi O'Brien Casey, 21, Pendleton-Negotiating a Bad Check, $401.50 fine, 60 days in jail, $200 fine and jail sentence suspended with one year proba tion with no further violation of law excluding minor traffic; Cindi Lee H udson, 29, Pendleton-Failure to Yeild Right of Way at Intersection, $25 fine; Raymond Donald Harris, 41, Umatilla-Exceeding the Max imum Speed Limit, 69 mph in a 55 mph zone, $55 fine; Stephen Lynn Best, 27, Hermiston-Exceeding the Max imum Speed Limit, 72 mph in a 55 mph zone, $61 fine; Greg Allen Jones, 26, Heppner-No Motorcycle En dorsement, $25 fine; John Lavern Michler, 35, Elgin-Exceeding the Maximum Speed Limit. 68 mph in a 55 mph zone, $61 fine. Sheriff’s Report Workforce meeting set A meeting of the Morrow- Umatilla Workforce Quality Committee has been planned for Monday, July 19 from 1:30-4 p.m. at the Blue Mountain Com munity College's Hermiston campus. The Morrow County Sheriff s office at the courthouse in Hepp ner reports dispatching the following business during the past week: Morrow County Sheriff s Of fice dispatched the Boardman Fire Dept to a grass fire at the Boardman Marina. Fire was con tained and mopped up; Morrow County Sheriff s Of fice dispatched the Boardman am bulance to the Boardman Marina for an injured skier. Patient was transported to Good Shepherd Community Hospital: Morrow County Sheriff s Of fice dispatched the Heppner Am bulance to Gilmore St. One female was transported to Walla Walla; M orrow County deputy responded to the Riverview Mobile Court in Irrigon for a neighborhood disturbance; Morrow County Sheriff s Of fice dispatched the Boardman Fire Dept to a brush fire on Col umbia St. July 5: Morrow County depu ty responded to Cutsforth Cor ners for a motor vehicle accident. Heppner ambulance transported one male to Pioneer Memorial Hospital with injuries; Morrow County Sheriff s Of fice dispatched the Heppner am bulance to Union St. One female transported to Pioneer Memorial Hospital with an injury; Morrow County Sheriff s Of fice dispatched the Arlington Fire Dept to a grass fire near the rock quarry in Blalock Canyon; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Arlington Am bulance to a business in Arlington for a sick five year old. Patient refused transport. M orrow County deputy secured an open door at a mini storage in Irrigon. July 6: M orrow County Sheriffs office dispatched the Boardman ambulance to the Tex aco station. One female was transported to the Boardman Clinic; M orrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a neighborhood problem regar ding garbage that smelled; Morrow County deputy check ed out a residence on Black Horse Canyon regarding a phone pro blem. Call was unfounded. July 7: Morrow County depu ty responded to the Boardman area to take a report of a theft of a CB radio from Michael Allison. CB was valued at $75; M orrow County deputy responded to 1-84, west bound at mile post 156 for a report of a field fire along the railroad tracks. Fire turned out to be a controlled burn; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Fossil am bulance to the Clamo Bridge for a male with a back injury. Patient was transported to Mt View Hospital in Madras; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Boardman am bulance to Mancamp for a male with an illness. Patient was transported to Good Shepherd Com m unity H ospital in Hermiston; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched the Arlington am bulance to the Arlington Motel. One person was transported to Mid Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles with an illness; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Boardman am bulance to the Boardman Fire Hall for a female who was in jured. Patient was transported to Good Shepherd Community Hospital in Hermiston; M orrow County deputy responded to Oregon St in Irrigon for a report of a prowler; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Boardman am bulance to Wilson Trailer Court for a female with an illness. Pa tient was transported to Good Shepherd Community Hospital in Hermiston; M orrow County deputy responded to the Boardman area for a report of a neighborhood disturbance; Morrow County deputy ar rested Toby Rodriguez, 23, Ir rigon, on a warrant for Failure To Pay Fine, D riving While Suspended and Open Container. Rodriguez was cited and released. July 8: Morrow County depu ty responded to Kinzua for a report of criminal mischief in volving slashed tires. Investiga tions are continuing; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched the Boardman am bulance to the east bound Board- man rest area for a man with an unknown illness. One male was transported to Good Shepherd Com m unity H ospital in Hermiston; M orrow County deputy responded to Irrigon for a report of a juvenile problem. Problem was resolved. July 9: Morrow County depu ty assisted the Boardman Police Dept with a report o f a disturbance; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched the Arlington Fire Dept, to a vehicle on fire on 1-84, east bound, mile post 133; Morrow County deputy took a report of domestic problem at a residence in Irrigon. July 10: Morrow County depu ty responded to a residence on Sky view Dr., Boardman, to take a report of an assault; Morrow County deputy began an investigation of a break-in at Del Pipers’ cabin; Morrow County deputy took a report of trespassers at a residence at the Weary Traveler Apartments in Irrigon; Morrow County deputy began an investigation of a juvenile pro blem in Lexington; M orrow County deputy assisted the Boardman Police Dept, with an investigation of mischief at the Boardman Marina Park; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Arlington am bulance and rescue to a vehicle accident on 1-84, east bound, mile post 115. One person was transported to Mid Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles with unknown injuries; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice responded to the report of a vehicle accident on Paul Smith Road in Boardman. There were no transports; M orrow County deputy responded to a neighborhood disturbance in Lexington. July 11: Morrow County depu ty responded to a report of criminal mischief in Irrigon; M orrow County deputy assisted in reuniting a disoriented driver with her family; M orrow County deputy responded to a report of suspicious circumstances at an Ir rigon residence; Morrow County deputy is in vestigating a possible assault on a juvenile in Irrigon. Investiga tion is continuing. July 12: Morrow County Sheriffs office dispatched the Mitchell ambulance to a motor vehicle accident on Hwy. 26 at mile post 75. Turned out to be an abandoned vehicle; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched and responded to a residence in south Morrow County for an animal problem. Problem was resolved; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Boardman Fire Dept to a gas spill at the BP station; Morrow County deputy started an investigation into a burglary at a business in Irrigon. Numerous tools were taken. Amount of value was unknown; Morrow County deputy began investigating a person reported as m issing. Investigation is continuing. July 13: Morrow County depu ty assisted the Boardman Police Dept with a fight in the parking lot of a Boardman business. Job veteran’s services available The Oregon State Employment Department announces job and veteran services will now be available the fourth Thursday of each month in Heppner at 247 N. Main. Marty Duray, local veterans employment representative of the Hermiston Field Office, will be providing services to both veterans and non-veterans bet ween 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Court Street Market 11 N.
