Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, July 14, 1993 - THREE Soroptimist installs new officers HHS athletes encouraged to use weight room Little League All Star tournament underway The weight room at the Hepp- ner High School is now open for all Heppner high athletes Sunday through Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. All athletes are encouraged to use the weight room and to begin their training for football and volleyball. Football camp will be held August 9-13. More details will be available at a later date. The evening began with a potluck dinner. The program was a report from Roger and Rosalie Scharen, who were delegates to By Delpha Jones The board of directors of the MOrrow County Historical Society met on Monday evening June 28 at the home of Don and Donna Eppenbach in Irrigon. The evening started with a barbecue and visiting, followed by the regular meeting. A report was heard from Bet ty Carlson on the senior citizen essays planned for the fair. The group enjoyed a boat trip on the Snake River and visited many interesting places such as the Hungry Horse Dam, Lewiston, St. Ignatius Mission, a bison range and other places of interest. The yearly trip is spon sored by the Historical Society. Plans were discussed for the annual meeting the first Sunday in October. Committees were appointed. A report was given by Jean Nelson on the Well Springs Kiosk. Two thousand five hun dred people have signed the register from March 1992 to May 1993. It was noted that extensive work has been done on the Cecil store with Robin Baker operating a mini museum and store. Four hundred people have already visited the store. The business of moving the Gazebo at boardman was brought before the group. Plans are to go ahead with the project.
