Amount of value was unknown at press time; Morrow County deputy responded to a complaint of loud music near Boardman. Oregon 97818 481-9474 481-7351 Treatment of Vaginal Candida Infections Recently in this column, we commented on a report which in dicated that urinary tract infections (UTIs) have become the most common bacterial infection re ported in the United States. The majority of the eight to ten million office visits made each year for infections of the urinary tract are made by women. An increasing number of women are experienc ing UTIs caused by organisms of the Candida family, especially Candida albicans. The vaginal area contains certain harmless bacteria that keep fungus such as Candida under control. Feminine hygiene sprays, oral anti biotics, and other substances can kill the harmless bacteria, allowing for growth of the fungus. Other fac tors that may contribute to vaginal Candida infections are diabetes, use of systemic steroid medicines, and the presence of a urinary catheter. A fully developed Candida in fection may cause itching and im- tation of the vagina or vulva. Other symptoms of a Candida infection in adult women include frequency of urination, pain during intercourse, and a thick, white discharge. The usual drug treatment for this infection is with a vaginal cream or suppository such as clotrimazole or miconazole. One week of the cream or suppository normally is enough to clear the infection. Call was unfounded; M orrow County deputy responded to investigate the report of a disturbance in Board- man on Wilson Road; M orrow County deputy responded to investigate the report of a restraining order violation at Desert Springs Estates in Boardman. May 8: Morrow County depu ty responded to a motorcycle ac cident five miles south of Anson Wright Park. Heppner ambulance transported one male to Pioneer Memorial Hospital. Patient was then air lifted to Walla Walla, WA. Injuries were unknown; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched the Heppner am bulance to a motorcycle accident on Highway 74, mile post 30.5. One person was transported to Pioneer Memorial Hospital then taken to St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton. Injuries were unknown; Morrow County deputy in vestigated an animal problem in Irrigon; Morrow County deputies in vestigated an animal problem in Lexington; M orrow County deputy responded to an animal problem in Irrigon; M orrow County deputy responded to investigate a report o f Domestic Violence at a residence in the Wilson Trailer Court in Irrigon. Call was unfounded; Morrow County deputy took a report of a cabin that had been broken in to. Value was unknown. Cabin is located 24 miles south of Heppner; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice took a report of possible disturbances in the Cutsforth Park area. May 9: Morrow County Sheriffs office responded to a residence in Irrigon on Division St. to investigate a suspicious per son. Call was unfounded; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Boardman am bulance to a one vehicle rollover on I 84 at mile post 171 near Pat terson Ferry. There was no transport; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Arlington am bulance to a reported male hav ing a heart attack on 1-84, west bound at mile post 143. Deputy was unable to locate anyone upon arrival; M orrow County deputy assisted the Boardman Police Dept with a disturbance at the Marina; Morrow County deputy ar rested Michael Robert Nelson, 35, Boardman for Assault IV Domestic. Nelson was lodged at Benton County Jail. This underbuming project is designed to re-introduce fire into the ecosystem. The objectives of the bum are to reduce natural fuels on the forest floor and improve the quantity and quality of native forage species for big game and livestock. This decision is subject to ap peal pursuant to Forest Service regulations at 36 CFR Part 217. Published: May 12, 1993 PUBLIC NOTICE HEPPNER RANGER DISTRICT PROPOSES 1993 CUTSFORTH PARK WATER STORAGE SYSTEM PROJECT The Heppner Ranger District of the Umatilla National Forest is currently conducting an en vironmental analysis for the pro posed 1993 Cutsforth Park Water Storage System Project. This pro ject would permit the Morrow County Public Works Depart ment to construct a water storage system on National Forest land to supply water for public use at Cutsforth Park. Construction would include installation of a buried, 1,000 gallon, gravity flow, water storage tank with an approximate 150 foot piping system to deliver water to the park.
