The Morrow County Weed Control District can help lan downers identify noxious weed problems and provides cost-share assistance for “ A” List noxious weeds. While the district prefers to work •with” the landowner on specific weed problems, the county ordinance allows the weed district to impose fines of up to $500 for noncompliance and charge the cost of controlling noxious weeds to the tax lot as a first lien. Anyone having questions about noxious weeds can contact the weed district at 676-5452. April showers have brought on a good crop of noxious w eeds this year,” says a press release from the Morrow County Weed Con trol District. Scotch thistle, yellow starth istle, poison hemlock and everyone’s favorite, diffuse knapweed, are popping up all over. “ The time to take care of these exotic weeds is now , if the preferred method is spray ing,” said the release. Young, ac tively growing plants are easier to control and require less her bicide to achieve desired results. Since landowners are required to control noxious weeds by law it is important to be able to recognize seedlings and small in festations before the cost of con- Booster Club meeting slated 1993-94 school year activities. W alker has completed a wheel vehicle repairer course at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen, MD. Students were taught troubleshooting, replacement and adjustment of components and assemblies of wheeled vehicles. Use of publications, tools and diagnostic equipment were also included in the training. He is the son of James and Sal ly W'alker, Heppner and is a 1989 graduate of Arlington High School.
