The Lefevre Prairie GWEB (Governor's Watershed Enhance- ment Board) project was toured for the second year by the teaching profe ion. The V~Ag teachers were in- tcre ted in how the conservation endured the spring run-off and what impact the log-weirs had on the water table and how much edimcnt had been deposited in the tream bed. Due to below normal precipitation in the ' 90-91 winter, the sediment basin did not retain a much water and the log weir did not require any maintenance other than re-seeding di turbcd areas. The Oregon Department of Fi h & Wildlife e timate a 2-3 fold increase in elk usage as well as an increasing number of both horebirds and migratory water fowl as a direct re ult of the Lefevre Prairie GWEB project.
