Mol ly Reha from home health care and Carol Michael-Bennett of the Extension service were also available to help the group make plans for the health fair. The tentative date for the fiar is April 29. There were 95 people present for the senior dinner Feb. 17, with four meals taken out. Members of the Catholic church served. Alice McCabe won the meal ticket, Adine Stone the door prize and Nor ma Edger received the guest gift. A center board meeting followed the meal. The senior board has set up a trust fund that is now operable. Dona tions are gratefully accepted. The menu for March 3 will be Hungarian goulash, green beans, apple sauce, bread and crisp. Members of the Baptist church and Heppner Christian Missionary Fellowship will serve. Plans have been made for the St. Patrick’s celebration. More volunteers and pie bakers and servers are needed for the soup lun cheon Feb. 13. Stop by the office to sign up. Tickets for the quilt raffle are still being sold in the office. There was only one table of cards playing Friday afternoon. With improved weather it is hoped more will be able to attend this Fri day. There was also a small turnout for the dance Friday night. It was great fun for those who were there, said a spokesperson. Velma Wight was the hostess. Sunday evening 10 people enjoyed the movie Beethoven provided by Florence Holt. Dates to remember: Focus meeting March 2, 10:30 a.m.; Willoughby Hearing Aid representative at Center March 3, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; Monday, 9 a.m.-noon free tax service, 10:30-11:30 Bible study 1-4 p.m. quilting. 7:30 p.m. knitting; Tues. and Thurs, 10-10:30 a.m. exercise; Friday 9 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m. tax service, 2:30 p.m.-cards and games; Sunday 6 p.m. movie. If there is a group of musicians or a piano player who would like to play chords for a fiddler contact George Storms, Nadine Toombs father. Storms has played several numbers on his fiddle for the senior’s dance and would like to practice with someone. Wedding reception set for Angells A wedding reception for Jim and Kim Angell will be held Saturday, March 6 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Morrow County Fairgrounds annex building. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. Jim Angell and Kim Keen were married February 6, 1993 at Reno, Nevada. Wheat commission plans meeting The Oregon Wheat Commis sion will hold a regular meeting on Thursday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. and a Research Review meeting on Friday, Feb. 26 at 9 a.m. Both meetings will be held at the Sizzler Restaurant in Pendleton located at 1515 Southgate. Chamber Chatter By C lau d ia H u ghes, cham ber m anager Sixteen days until the leprechauns crawl out of the snowdrifts. As the snow con tinues to drift down, try to envi sion our parade. Towns have Christmas parades in the snow, so why not a St. Patrick's parade? Wouldn’t the green be a stand-out against the white background. We could always have leprechauns on snowmobiles instead of golf carts. Unique, it would be but the committee has faith that sunny weather will prevail. Whatever, our Wee Bit O ’lreland celebra tion will be the best yet because of all the terrific volunteers who put their nose to the grindstone to make it happen. Looking ahead to Chamber ac tivities in March: March 2 will be the board meeting at 11 a.m. at the Elks followed by the business meeting, which gives all entities in the community an opportunity to share with the membership and answer questions. Heppner High School teacher, will explain the work experience student program on March 9; a conference call with Senator Wes Cooley is scheduled for March 16; some in teresting facts will be shared about “ Your Privacy" or lack of by Carol Michael-Bennett. Sheriff’s Report The Morrow County Sheriffs office at the courthouse in Hepp ner reports dispatching the following business during the past week: February 14: Morrow County deputy responded to investigate a report of two prowlers at the Tidewater site at the Port of Mor row, Boardman; M orrow County deputy responded to one mile east of Pat terson Ferry Junction for a report of a vehicle on its top. There were no injuries and a tow was called; M orrow County deputy responded to Kunze Road in Boardman for a report of a traf fic problem. February 15: Morrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a report of harassment; M orrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area. One female was transported to Eastern Oregon Phsyciatric Center; M orrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for an animal problem; M orrow County deputy responded to Hwy. 207 for a disabled truck; M orrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area to secure a business door that was found unlocked. Irrigon for a report of a careless driving complaint; Morrow County Sheriff s of fice dispatched the Boardman Fire Dept to a brush fire on Hwy. 730, two miles east of the 1-84 junction; M orrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a juvenile problem. February 18: Morrow County deputy responded to the Board- man area to take a report of theft from Felix Cantu, Hermiston. A tow bar valued at $700 was taken from Hill Top road; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Arlington am bulance and rescue to a motor vehicle accident on 1-84. Two people were transported to Mid Columbia Hospital and one per son was transported to Good Shepherd Hospital with unknown injuries. February 19: Morrow County Sheriffs office dispatched the Fossil ambulance. One male with an unknown illness was transported to Madras; Morrow County deputy began an investigation of a report of a juvenile problem at an Irrigon school; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Arlington am bulance and fire department to a motor vehicle accident on 1-84, west bound, mile post 133. Three people were transported to Mid Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles with unknown injuries; M orrow County deputy responded to a motor vehicle ac cident on 1-84, west bound on ramp from Hwy. 730. A tow truck was called, there were no injuries; M orrow County deputy responded to investigate the report of a noise disturbance on 9th St. in Irrigon; M orrow County deputy responded to the report of two vehicles in the median off of 1-84, mile post 167. There were no injuries. February 20: Morrow County deputy responded to investigate the report of a juvenile problem in Irrigon; M orrow County deputy responded to investigate a report of a juvenile problem in Irrigon; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Boardman am bulance to a motor vehicle acci dent on 1-84, west bound, mile post 171. There was no transport; M orrow County deputy responded to back up Boardman Police Dept at a business in Boardman; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice arrested Elmo Griffin, 42, Boardman, on an Irrigon Justice Court warrant. Subject was released on his own recognizance. February 21: Morrow County Sheriff s office dispatched the Fossil ambulance to the Clinic for a transport to Bend. One male was transported with an unknown illness. February 22: Morrow County deputy took a report of a stolen wallet and started investigation of check forgery; M orrow County deputy responded to the report of an animal problem in the Boardman area; M orrow County deputy responded to Irrigon for a possi ble juvenile problem; M orrow County deputy assisted the Boardman Police Dept with a burglar alarm at a local Boardman business.
