I am asking for your opinion as to my potential candidacy. When you see me in town, at a meeting, or socially please stop to discuss my candidacy. Help me make this decision. Happy Holidays To All, Your Servant, K ent Everyone is invited to attend the Heppner alumni basketball tournament which will be held Friday through Sunday, Jan. 1-3. Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for students or $15 for a family pass. Children must be supervis ed and are not allowed on the balcony. The balcony is for adults only. The basketball games start Fri day at 1:30 p.m. and are double elimination. The pre-68 team will play the non lettering team. The rest of the schedule is as follows: 3 p.m. ‘69-‘72 vs ‘73-76; 6 p.m. ‘90-92 v s ‘81-83; St. Patrick’s Senior Center in Board * 2. at the Heppner Elks club. There will be a meeting Tues day, Dec. 29 at 7 p.m. at the Col umbia Basin Electric Coop. This will be the final meeting and team captains should attend. women’s free-throw contest and men’s three-point contest will be before the championship game on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. A social get-together is plann ed for Saturday evening January Clad tidings a n d heartfelt thanks to all our friends. John & Ann Murray & There were 120 people in attendance for the Christmas dinner on Wednesday, Dec. 16 at the Senior Center, with four guests and 11 dinners sent out. Members of the Catholic Church served. Truman Messenger won the meal ticket, Wanda Johnson the door prize and Mrs. Gus Streether of Spray received the guest prize. The Nutrition Site Committee met following the dinner. The menu for the birthday dinner Dec. 30 will be meatballs with mushroom gravy, broccoli, mashed potatoes, rolls, ice cream and cake. Members of the Baptist Church will serve. Fifty-four people gave blood at the Red Cross blood drawing at the Senior Center Dec. 17. The Catholic Church sponsored the drive. A large group of small children from the elementary school carol ed in the halls at the St. Patrick’s Senior Center on Thursday even ing, Dec. 17. The tenants were delighted to hear their beautiful voices. Now that the end of the year is near seniors should be reminded of services available to them. Dinner is every Wednesday at noon. Seniors are served nourishing food and may visit with friends and relatives. Homebound seniors may order a meal on Wednesday by calling the center office, 676-9030 and it will be delivered to them. Meals on Wheels may be obtained the other week days by calling the Pioneer Memorial Hospital dietician to make arrangements 676-9133. A toot clinic is held at the center the first Wednesday of each month. Call the Home Health Department at the hospital for an appointment. Blood pressures are taken at the center the second and fourth Wednesdays before dinner. The dollaride car is available to take seniors to appointments or for shopping. Corol Mitchell of OPI may be reached at the senior center office Tuesdays and Thursdays; exercise class is Tuesday and Thurs day, 10-10:30 a m.; Bible study on Monday. 10:30-11:30.
