The Rev. Kate Simmons and Rev. Bill Hoffhines officiated. The bride, formerly of Salem, is the daughter of Jack and Penny Holstad of Atlanta. Georgia. The groom is the son of Hank and Kathi Pointer, lone. De Hamilton and Deb Holstad, sisster of the bride, were honor attendants. Carrie Majors, Heidi Gelbrich and Amy Pointer, sister of the groom, were bridesmaids. Darrin Padberg. lone, was best man. Groomsmen were Kevin Jeskey, Brendan Kelley, Ken Zolkoske and Rod Taylor. A reception following the ceremony was held at Salem's historic Mission Mill Museum. The bride is a graduate of South Salem High School and majored in sociology at Oregon State University. She is employed as a legal assistant for Holiday Retirement Corp. in Salem. Eric is a graduate of lone High School and Oregon State Univer sity. He is employed as a court operations specialist for the judicial department for the state of Oregon. The combined convention of the Washington Wool Growers and the Oregon Sheep Growers Associations witnessed the wool fashion show of 40 winners from throughout Oregon and Washington. Washington state senior divi sion winner was 24 year old Kimberle (W right) Trotter, formerly of Heppner, now residing in Vancouver, WA. Kim, the daughter of Ken and Judy Wright of Heppner, added her special designer touches to a long jacket of bordeaux-colored 100 percent wool. On the front and back yokes she added a suede insert, her own original design. A contrasting collar of natural shearling provides an attractive accent. The jacket also features a detachable hood and drawcord at the waste. Kimberle, a graduate of Bassist College with a degree in fashion design, is employed at Columbia Sportswear in Portland. Oregon state winners have made the contest a family affair. Carol Shull of Bend won the adult division, her daugher Michal Shull, won the senior division and another daughter. Rachel Shull won the junior division. State director Judy Wright of Heppner says that this is the first time in the history of the Oregon contest that farfiily members have won all three divisions. Michal Shull was a national level finalist in the junior division last year. Trotter and the Shulls will compete at national finals at Dallas, Tx Jan. 20-23. Wright, who will accompany them, says that their trip to Dallas will in clude a tour of Mary Kay Cosmetics, a Tex-Mex barbecue and other special events. November 25: Morrow Coun ty deputy responded to assist Oregon State Police in locating a stolen vehicle; M orrow County deputy responded to investigate a juvenile problem in Irrigon; Morrow County Search and Rescue was activated to attempt to locate an 18 year old male hunter missing since 5 p.m. in the Springhollow area. He was found at 1:21 a.m. in an abandoned building alive and well. November 26: Morrow Coun ty Sheriff s office dispatched the Arlington ambulance to a motor vehicle accident on 1-84 mile post 133-134 in the median. Two peo-, pie were transported to Good Shepherd Hospital with minor injuries; M orrow County deputy responded to investigate suspicious circumstances at Greg’s Tavern in Irrigon; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Arlington am bulance to the BP station for a female with unknown injuries. Female was transported to Good Shepherd Community Hospital; M orrow County deputy responded to investigate a juvenile problem in Irrigon; M orrow County deputy responded to request for officer at a residence on Riverview Drive in Boardman; M orrow County deputy responded to investigate a report of possible stranded motorist on Hwy. 207. Deputy was unable to locate motorist upon arrival; Morrow County deputy respond ed to investigate a report of a possible lost hunter. Deputy was unable to locate complaining party. November 27: Morrow Coun ty deputy arrested Joseph Hector Gonzalez, 45, for possession of stolen property. He was lodged at Benton County Jail; Morrow County deputy ar rested Rodney Lee Gray. Jr., 29, for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants. Gray was releas ed on his own recognizance to appear at Irrigon Justice Court; M orrow County deputy responded to assist the Hermiston Police Dept in attempting to locate a male subject for them. November 28: Morrow Coun ty deputy responded to investigate a neighborhood problem that was a civil matter; M orrow County deputy responded to investigate a report of a juvenile problem in Irrigon; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the lone Rescue and Heppner ambulance to a residence in Cecil. One male was transported to Pioneer Memorial Hospital with an unknown illness; M orrow County deputy responded to investigate a driv- ing complaint on Kunze road in Boardman; M orrow County deputy responded to attempt a welfare check near Patterson Ferry Road; M orrow County deputy responded to assist Oregon State Police investigate suspicious cir cumstances on Willow Creek Road in Heppner. November 29: Morrow Coun ty deputy responded to investigate a possible neighborhood distur bance in the Boardman area; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Spray am bulance to Olson Road for one male who was transported to Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Prineville; M orrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a report of a residence that had been broken into on 8th St. West. November 30: Morrow Coun ty deputy responded to the Irrigon City Hall to take a criminal mischief report; M orrow County deputy responded to Lexington to take a report of harassment. Case is pending; M orrow County deputy responded to investigate a report of a vehicle speeding in a residen tial area in Irrigon. Deputy was unable to locate vehicle upon arrival; Morrow County Sheriffs of fice dispatched the Boardman am bulance to 1-84, westbound mile post 155 for a motor vehicle ac cident. Two people were transported to Good Shepherd Community Hospital with minor injuries. Work has begun on the new rodeo arena. Clay West started tearing down the old arena and grandstands last Monday, Nov. 23. Wayne Evans is the new design chairperson for the new grounds. He will be in charge of drafting the design to include the chutes, bleachers, restrooms, and snack shack. Mike Proctor is the project coordinator when the design plan is completed. His duties will in clude overseeing the project from start to finish. Mike will be work ing closely with Bill Gentry who has volunteered to be the project superintendent. Wayne Plocharsky, the winner of the Blazer tickets at the 1992 Oregon Trail Pro Rodeo attend ed the Portland-Detroit game last week. Tom Wolfe of Salem, former Heppner resident and graduate donated the Blazer tickets. Elementary school sponsors book fair The Heppner Elementary School Media Center is sponsor ing a book fair now through Dec. 4.
