Four - Special Fair and Rodeo edition August 12, 1992 Enter Morrow County Rodeo now Presentations entertaining Entries for the Morrow Coun ty Rodeo August 21 will be taken August 16 and 17 at the fair of- fice. Call the office on Sunday, Aug. 16, between 1 and 6 p.m. 676-9474. On Monday, Aug. 17 Have you ever wondered how to make a “perfect cake”, “ tie dye a shirt, ” “lounge a colt,” or “trim a win?” These are ex amples of some past county fair presentations. This type of com petition called “Demonstration,” in the past will take place on Thursday, August 20. “We don't know what the topics will be in 1992,” commented Carol Michael Bennett, “but they are sure to be entertaining as well as educational.” The Beef Ambassador presen tations as well as general presen tations will also take place on Thursday. These two types of contests are open to all 4-H members, regardless of project type. Presentation contestants always appreciate an audience, call 676-9711, all day. All fees must be paid by Thursday, Aug. 20. t 4-H members Jared Purcell and Heather Ennis polish presentation skills. and it is hoped that fairgoers will support youth with their presence. Senior citizen day Aug. 20 r HATS OFF” TO THE MORROW COUNTY FAIR AND RODEO Senior citizen day at the fair is Thursday, August 20. This year a queen will be chosen to reign over the festivities of the day. One princess will be picked from Boardman, Irrigon, Heppner, Lexington, Ione and Hardman to represent her community. The women must be at least 65 years of age and live within the com munity that they will be representing. Each representative will model her favorite hat and tell a story about the hat that she is wearing. She will also be asked a question about herself and an impromtu question. Each question will be different. The gala event will take place Thursday at 10 a. m. on the stage in the picnic area. Ann Spicer will be master of ceremonies for the event. Judges will be Ed Glenn, coun ty commissioner Jerry Peck, Judge Louis Carlson, and mayer of Ione Linda LaRue.
