TWO - Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, July 15, 1992 ‘Make It With Wool contest slated Oregon Sheepgrowers Conven tion. A state junior and senior winner then advances to the na tional competition to be held January 20-23 in Dallas, Texas. Maureen Krebs directs District 7 which includes residents of Gilliam, Morrow, Umatilla, Wasco, Sherman and Hood River counties. The contest is open to men and women with four age groups starting with pre-teen, 12 and under; junior, 13-16 year olds; senior, 17-24 year olds; and adult, 25 and over. Garments are initially judged on the entrant with appropriate accessories. Judges look for cur rent fashion, appropriateness of fabric and style to the entrant, fit, poise, and presentation. After modeling, garments are judged on inner construction and durability. Last year’s senior champion from this district, Jimi Kaye Alexander, went on to win the state competition and advance to nationals. Both the junior and senior national winners were men last year. The deadline for entries is September 25. Entry information is available by writing Krebs, at Cecil Star Route, lone, OR 97843, or call 422-7548. Charles Myers, father of the groom officiated. The bride is the daughter of Max and Betty Breeding. Gresham. She graduated from Gresham Union High School in 1988 and join ed the Air Force on Dec. 11, 1990. serving 14 months in Okinawa, Japan. She wore a satin gown with sequins and pearl beads on the bodice. The veil was a two-tier finger tip length. Wedding colors were red, black and white. The groom is the son of Charles and Nancy Myers of Independence, MO. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1989 and served two years at Okinawa in the Air Force. Matron of honor was Julie Akers, Gresham, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Stacy Myers and Stephonie Dilley of Independence, sisters of the groom. Best man was Jerry Newton of Independence, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Phillip Myers and Mike Myers of Independence, brothers of the groom. Ushers were Creg Shotswell and Lee Dilley, Independence. Jennifer Breeding of Gresham, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Christopher Breeding, Gresham, nephew of the bride was ring bearer. Wedding songs were “ After AH” and “ Cherish the Treasure” , sung by Stacy Myers and Creg Shotswell. The groom’s mother made the wedding cake and the bride's aunts, Gracie Baker and Dorthy Wilson, Heppner cut and served the cake. Candice Jenkins of In dependence, cousin of the groom attended the guest book. The bride's mother wore a two-piece suite of ivory lace accente* with pearls. The groom’s mother wore a black and white dress with lace and a jeweled bodice. Special guests were the bride’s two brothers Donald from Gresham and Dale from Jacksonville, Florida; Lydia Wilson. Heppner, grand mother of the bride, Tom and Dorthy Wilson. Heppner and Ed and Gracie Baker. Lexington, aunts and uncles of the bride, the bride’s parents Max and Betty Breeding and their grandchildren Jennifer and Christopher Breeding. Following a honeymoon trip in Kansas City the couple will make their home in Lompoc, CA where the groom is stationed with the Air Force at Vandenberg Air Force Base. Officerselected were: chairman, Paul Jones, vice-chairperson Mary Goheen; treasurer, Harriet Batty; and secretary, Shirle’ Haugen. There were 108 people present for the senior dinner July 8, in eluding seven guests. Six dinners were taken out. Members of thi Baptist Church served. Bert Johannes is the hostess for July.
