.TWO - Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, April 18, 1990 Christophersons to celebrate 50th Veron and Dorothy (Brady) Christopherson, formally of the lone area, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on April 21. The couple were married in College Place. Wa. on April 23, 1940. Both Vernon and Dorothy grew up in the lone area and attended and graduated from the lone schools. During the first 25 years of their mar riage they lived in the Gooseberry, Condon, Olex and Rufus communities. In 1965 they moved to Donald, OR to be near Vernon’s mother, Ada Agee Christopherson Both the Agee and Christopherson families homesteaded the lone area. Vernon and Dorothy’s family invites the couples’ friends and classmates to join them in celebrating this joyous event. The celebration of love and devotion will include a reaffirmation of the couples wedding vows. For those wishing to attend the celebration will take place at the Donald Fire Hall in Donald, from 1 to 5 p.m. Their address is: Vernon and Dorothy Christopherson, 20775 Butteville Rd. N.E. Aurora 97843. The family re quests no gifts please, however there will be a money tree available. Lattimer — Ball Shannon Lattimer and Kevin Ball were married in Walla Walla, Wa. on March 23, 1990. The bride, given away by her father, wore a white floor-length gown of silk organza over taffeta with a high neck, long sleeves and lace appli ques. sequins and seed pearls. A floor-length train was decorated with seed pearls and lace sequins. The train was handmade by the bride's cousin, Kim Fazzari. Shannon’s bouquet was a cascade of gardenias, baby pink and bridal roses with trailing pink and white ribbon The groom wore a white tuxedo with a pink tie and cumberbun. Maid of honor was Audry Joscelyn of Walla Walla, friend of the bride. Best man was Jeff Ball of Klamath Falls, brother of the groom. Candlelighters were Chrysan Storment, cousin of the bride, and Dawn Boor, sister of the groom. Ringbearer was Bryan Fazzari cousin of the bride. A reception was held at the Modern restaurant in Walla Walla. The bride is a 1987 graduate of Wa-Hi in Walla Walla and attended col lege at Central Washington University. She is the daughter of Jerry and Jennifer Lattimer of Walla Walla. The groom is a 1987 graduate of lone High chool and has been a paratrooper with the Army for the last two years. He is the son of Jim and Marie Boor of lone and Wayne Ball. Portland. The couple will be making their home in Fayetteville, N.C. Puppy Food 1 2 50 At our last Wednesday dinner many ladies and some men wore hats to join in an Easter Parade led by Darlene Arrington singing, “ I could write a sonnet about your Easter bonnet..." Those in the procession lined up before their audience to take a bow as the prizes were presented. First prize went to Darlene Arrington’s lively creation of a food strainer decked with kitchen gadgets; second to Doris Ball’s chapeau with a huge red rose on the crown; third to VoJean Forquer’s mini straw with tht;ee tiny rosebuds growing straight up; and fourth to Billie Walker (a guest from California) with her bonnet with "purple frills upon it.” We all had fun. This week: Friday coffee hour from 2 to 4 p.m. in the sitting room. Everyone welcome. Saturday. April 21, a few spots are still available on the seniors' bus which leaves around 9 a m. for Yakima to attend Justine Weatherford's wedding or for shopping in the center near Sun Tower. Also, all week we’ve enjoyed a precious Easter basket filled with hand- decorated eggs, a gift of Cub Scout Pack 661 Webelows. Their leader is Midge Michael. Next week: Monday from 1 to 4 p.m. Quilters and Company are working on requests for finishing quilts and/or helping quilt makers with problems. Beginners or anyone interested in quilts are invited to join. Monday at 7 p.m. the BMCC knitting class. Wednesday noon is the birthday dinner. Menu: chicken nuggets, oven fried potatoes, spinach, whole wheat bread, fruity jello and cake with ice cream. The United Methodist Church helpers will assist with serving. Friday at 9 a m. in the front room will be our monthly food sale of breads, rolls, pies, cakes, cookies and other goodies. Recent additions to furnishings here include a three-tier magazine table making an effective display of magazines in the foyer and a mahogany kneehole desk which when refinished will be in the apartment lobby. Both are gifts from the Dr. Wolff estate. An opportunity for a retired senior volunteer is to build book cases for the library for this center. Hundreds of donated books are waiting to go on the shelves. The Sr. Center Board will furnish all materials, but we need a carpenter. Call the office at 676-9030 or Jane, 676-9435. Walchli — Currin Judy Jean Walchli, Hermiston, and Michael George Currin, Heppner, were united in marriage on Nov. 4, 1989, at a 5 p.m. ceremony at the Her miston Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Ron Lewis officiated. Judy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick "Skip' Walchli. Hermiston. She is a 1989 graduate of Hermiston High School. Michael is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Currin, Sr.. Heppner. He is a 1983 graduate of Hepp ner High School. He graduated from Blue Mountain Community College in 1985 and Boise State University in 1989. He is self-employed on the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association circuit. The bride was given away by her father amid a garden setting with a flowered archway, greenery and baskets of flowers. Heart wreaths of dried roses decorated each pew. Judy wore a Menicino original wedding gown of white bridal satin with re-embroidery, alencon lace and heavily beaded with seed pearls. The sheath gown had a Victorian collar, a sweetheart cutout, puffed long sleeves with lace cutouts and a cathedral-length train with a large beaded lace cutout in the center. Her mid-length three-tiered veil was trimmed in seed pearls with a blusher held in place by a pearl headpiece with a double frou-frou allusion. She carried a cascading silk bouquet of maroon roses, mauve car nations and pink stephanotis. It was surrounded by tufts of white netting and interspersed with streamers of pearls, white lace and satin, and mauve, pink and maroon ribbons. Maid of honor, Evie Mehren, wore a tea rose and white satin basque long gown, with short puffed sleeves and a v-back. The sheath skirt had a double peplum, ending in the back with a bustle. Bridesmaids were Sherie Britt, the bride’s sister; Jennifer Currin, the groom's sister: Racheile and Nancy Walchli, sisters-in-law of the bride; Kara Ego, Kristi Jacobson and Monique Piquet. They wore dresses iden tical to the maid of honor’s. Bestman was John Wilson. Groomsmen were Ron Currin. Jr., Steve Cur rin and Tony Currin, brothers of the groom; Marty Britt, brother in law of the bride. Scott English. Mike Smith and Don Kindsfather. Ushers were Bob, Patrick Jr., Donnie and Dannie Walchli, brothers of the bride. Vocalist was Jeri Lee Vernon, cousin of the bride. A duet was sung by Beth Forrar and Megan Fehrenbacher. Music was by Margaret Wetterling. Candlelighters were Bob Walchli and Patrick Walchli. Ringbearer was Blake Knowles. Flower girl was Leanna Mehren. Honorary flower girls were Lacey and Leah Walchli and Mindy and Mandy Walchli, nieces of the bride. A reception was held at the Walchli’s home, with dancing to the music of 3-D Productions, barbecued steaks and a champagne buffet. The cake was a four-tiered white cake with a lighted fountain, decorated with mauve, pink and maroon flowers that matched the bride's bouquet and topped with a kissing bride and groom. Jodi Michaels served cake; Tami Corey, coffee and Tamry Spike, punch. Kellie Fletcher was in charge of the guest book and Sarah Fetterhoff and Billie Sue Walchli, the gifts. On April 4, local representatives from Heppner Economic Develop ment Center, Heppner Garden Club. Willow Creek Park D istrict, Resource and C onservation Development and Heppner Chamber of Commerce met with the Morrow Soil and Water Conservation District to discuss the Oregon Youth Conser vation Corp grant received from the Oregon Department of Natural Resource Division for a hiking trail near the Willow Creek Dam Reservoir. The trail is to connect the W illow Creek Dam with the town of Hepp ♦ On week days call 676-5211 for attendant Betty Bailey. There is an additional *5°° fee for this service. Those who live inside the city limits will present their water billing card to the landfill attendant. !f you can’t find it, please, plan ahead and pick up a pass at the City Hall. If your water bill is paid by another party you may pick up a pass. Users with no card or pass will be considered outside users. ♦ I The City Council agreed that the way to identify a flat ♦ bed truck will be anything with dual wheels on the back. A pickup size or smaller trailer behind a car or other vehi cle is not considered a truck. t I ner so that the community can benefit from its use. The hiking trail proposed would allow people to walk from downtown to the propos ed swimming area and the proposed RV Park. Four or five local teenagers would be hired to build the trail for eight weeks starting sometime in June. On April 10. the Morrow Soil and Water Conservation made the same presentation to the Heppner Chamber of Commerce.
