Drago announced that the Oregon
State Sheriff»' A»»ociation 1 » giving
32 S500 scholarships to seexmd year
students m law enforcement and cor
ractions in Oregon The scholarships
are provided as a result of a fund
raising drive by the sheriffs through
the Honorary Sheriffs Membership
Program
Sheriff Drago said that students in­
terested in apply ing for a scholarship
should apply through the financial
aid office of their community college
or university In Oregon, all com­
munity colleges except Central
Oregon and Umpqua have pn>grams
in law enforcement and corrections
In addition. Southern Oregon Col­
lege in Ashland, Western Oregon
College in Monmouth. Portland
Slate University and the University
of Portland have programs where
students can armly for the scholar-
ships Two scholarships will he of­
fered by Lower Columbia College in
Longview. Washington to Oregon
students.

Association has now developed a
permanent endowment fund for
scholarships and encourages persons
interested in making donations and
