January 21 at home A fte r a tough firs t h a lf and a th ird period that was played w ith a larger boys basketball the F illie s trium phed 53-35 Heppner came out strong in the firs t quarter outsconng W ahtonka 15 8 Tam i Lindsay dominated the period scoring eight points Hcpp ner s trapping defense seemed lo slow the Eagles W ahtonka turned the game around in the sec«>nd quarter They q u ickly solved the problem they had w ith the F illie s ' trap and scored easy baskets o f f o f it A t the same tim e Heppner could not put any points on the score hoard The F illie s found themselves in a tig h t game as they only led by one at the h a lf. 22-21 H eppner came out in the second h a lf and took co n tro l o f the game A fu ll court press forced W ahtonka to several quick turnovers that the F illie s capitalized on K im Slookcy had three steals to ignite the H epp ner cause.
