Adams is happily look ing forward to putting finishing touches on the Imgon Fire Station and catching up' on projects around the house. " I like to work." said Adams Having retired only a short time ago, he has already been pumng up moldings around windows, staining facing's, and painting door frames of the nearly completed addition to the fire station and has put a 318 Dodge motor in his old pick-up Being fire chief for about 30 years is more to Adams than just ex tinguishing fires. " I'm not retiring from that.” he said His future plans sound like more work, painting the bottom of the Ir rigon Police Department's rescue boat, remodeling his garage, and re doing his yard He and his wife Ruth, are looking forward to a week end at Haystack Resort at Cannon Beach The trip was a gift along with $180 pocket money, from his co-workers and friends The gift was presented to him at a retirement dinner at Nendels recently, where ninety two well- wishers gathered to show their love and affection for him "It was a super party," said Adams "I was roasted, toasted, and barbequed " Discovering how talented his co- workers arc. Adams was presented with a scraptxxik of a collection of poems, stones, and momentos about his years spent at A.C. Houghton Elementary.
