Ashhaughs celebrate 70 years ()n Sunday. December 21. 1987. Clair Ashhaugh. 91, and Fay Ashhaugh. 83 celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary at their home in Ponland. Oregon Their children. l-owcll o f Portland. George o f Coos Bay, Lois Redding o f tan Angeles, California, were present as well as Clair's sister. Lucy Glasscock. 95 o f Portland, and friends Clair and Fay were raised at Hardman, and married in Heppner They remember they had a fish dinner after the wedding In 1921 they moved to Vancouver. Washington, and then hack to Fastcm Oregon in 1934 where he worked on the family ranch and for Morrow County However, part o f this time was spent in Northern Washington, where Clair worked in the highway construction east o f Seattle In 1941 they moved to Portland, where they worked in the ship yards Fay later worked at Meier and Frank for about 20 years until her retirement They have five grandshiIdren.
