O refon Wednesday, August 13, W 4 - H H o r s e S h o w w in n e rs n a m e d G a r d e n clubs p la n fa ir schedules By Just I nr VS rulhr rfnrd After hour> of working at fair preparations and enjoymg sharing a Sunday afternoon potluck dinner, nine member» of the Hcppncr Garden Club were joined by two member» of the lone Garden Quh in the fair picnic area in a final Rower Show planning meeting After all plan» were reviewed, the nine Hepp- ner gardener» held their club's regular Augu»t monthly meeting which 1 » usually held on the Tint Monday evening of each month under the leadership of Jane Hawlms. president, and Marlha Doherty , secretary Thi» year'» Floriculture Division will feature new varieties of flowers and plants It was announced that for the first time an experienced, guest flower arranger will exhibit some of her work Connie Tollefxon. a former District 10 president, will display a very modem artistic design (flower arrangement) which she will create at her home in Milton- Freewater This arrangement will feature the fair's theme "ToMorrow - Tday " It was stressed that three named arrangements in the new Novice Class are intended to encourage beginners to display artistic flower designs The larger Amateur Class with 14 titles for arrangements in eludes wreaths of fresh or dried materials An interesting contest set for Fri day afternoon will have folks com pete in creating arrangements on the spot A qualified judge will award prizes of $4. $3, and $2 laus Allyn of the lexington Garden Club is the general chairman tor the I9H6 f lower Show She urges all exhibitors to study the Fair Premium Book She has enlisted the follow ing member of the three South Morrow Garden Clubs to serve on the various show committees and also to serve as hostesses and securi ty persons during the hours the fair is open Committee members are Publicity Justine Weatherford.
