Arlington and Heppner P D I will not go into further detail of this tieeause Ihe case is still pending I w ill add Ihe following infor mat ion for the benefit of the citizens of Heppner. la-xington. and lone ( I I Heppner Police Department has a mutual aid agreement with sheriff's department llnder this agreement, we provide assistance to each other wher misled III Just b«i.i.use we are a municipal police, our authority does not end at the city lim its We have police powers withing Ihe houndries of the Stale of Oregon (3) When I left town on the afternoon of May 29. Chief Hathhun came on duly and Officer Hmghaiu was at his residence on standby alert Thus, the City of Heppner was not left unprotected It no one had been able to take over.
