J..Í t ni1; 1 "a; ■ t - u Supports reforestation trast fund To the editor Dear Secretary Block I am disappointed lo learn that you are considering the elimination of the Krforestation Trust Fund in 1985 For years. Oregonians have worked in fongress in a bi partisan effort to establish a dependable financial base for the reforestation of federal lands in our State Approx imately 50 percent of Oregon is federal lands Failure of the federal government to support the Fund and reforestation efforts would have a devastating impact on Oregon’s economic future As Chairman of the Oregon House Task Force on Reforestation and Hardwoods Utilization. I am deeply committed to maintaining and revit alizing the State's woods product industry and existing timber base Under the guise of recovering a minute fraction of the massive federal deficit, our economic stabil ity is being sacrificed Fliminaling the Reforestation Trust Fund is penny wise and pound foolish I urge you to include the Reforest atlon Trust Fund in your budget proposal for 1985 Sincerely yours, is ' Grattan Kerans Speaker Chair. I was stung by a yellow jacket Being allergic to insect stings. I must report to a doctor or an emergency room as soon as possible My husband wasn't sure of the hospital in Heppner but had no other choice We found the hospital and staff very efficient, cooperative and friendly Having dealt with other emer gency rooms in our area we were very impressed with Pioneer Mem orial The emergency room and staff were prepared to handle my emer gency and with a personal touch that kept me calm and able to answer questions for the doctor and nurse I would like to extend my grati tude and thanks to the doctor. Molly Rea and Trjsh for their care and friendliness My stay was short but made as pleasant as possible under the circumstances For a hospital the coffee was pretty good I grew up in Heppner (1956 671 and it was nice to know my home town could make me feel at home again even in an emergency i s i Pam «Hughes Stroda Monral.
