Senior 78000 - SPECIAL PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT The purpose of the "Special 4-H Photo Exhibit" is to provide a showcase for telling the 4-H story in pictures, provide an opportunity for all 4-H members to share photos, demonstrate how 4-H members can be involved in the selection process and provide a process for identifying 4-H photos which can be used to communicate 4-H activities and programs. The "special photo exhibit," both at county and state fair, will be a display of county photos taken by any 4-H member, not just photography members. Color or black and white photos may be used. Each print, regardless of size, should be mounted on poster, art or photo board approximately 8x11 inches in size. Entries should include name, age, address and county of photographer on the back of the entry, and an identifying caption for the picture or pictures on the front. Include negative, placed in an envelope and attached to the back of the mounting board. 1. Junior 2. Intermediate 3. Senior DIVISION 5 OTHER CREATIVE ARTS PREMIUMS Blue S4.M, Red - ll.M. White - S2.0 Only one article may be exhibited per member. Refer to the "4-H Fiber Arts Project Leader Guide" (4-H 760L) for detailed information. The exhibit article must include an explanation telling the audience how it was made. Be sure to indicate original idea, if used. The explanation may include pictures and may be on a poster or in a folder to be opened for display. The explanation will not be judged, but is required to qualify the exhibit for judging. General criteria for judging the exhibit will include: 1. General appearance (neat, clean, attractive). 2. Workmanship (appropriate techniques, suitable use of materials). 3. Application of skills and knowledge in line with age and advancement level of exhibitor. 4. Exhibit completed and properly labeled. 76001 Fiber Arts, Junior 76002 Fiber Arts, Intermediate 76003 Fiber Arts, Senior DIVISION 6 Any creative art or craft project completed by members enrolled in Creative Arts Project during current 4-H year that does not fall in other categories (example, dough art, tie dye, driftwood crafts, etc.). MECHANICAL SCIENCES DIVISION 1 MECHANICS PREMIUMS Blue I4.se. Red I3.M. White - tl.ea This division includes small engines, energy, automotive, tractors, snowmobile, computers, motorcycle, bicycle and rocketry project areas. Exhibits will be judged on their individual merit using the following criteria: 1. What the member has learned. 2. H) w the display communicated to the public what was done. 3. Workmanship of basic skills in project area where appropriate. In each class, the exhibit shall be an educational exhibit or display which will show or illustrate what the member has learned. Include a sufficient explanation to tell the Fair audience how the exhibit was made or what was done. Explanations are required to qualify the exhibit for judging. 40001 Junior 40002 Intermediate 40003 Senior 40004 Club DIVISION 2 TRACTOR DRIVING CONTEST PREMIUMS: First SS.M. Secswd -4.M. Third . li st. Fourth . 2.t. Fifth IIS This contest is open to all 4-H members who are enrolled in the Intermediate or Senior age group. Members need not be enrolled in "Tractor" or "Mechanical Sciences," per se. Contestants must present a signed parental release form at the start of the contest. Each contestant will compete individually. Proper 4-H conducf will be expected ; swearing or other disobediences will be grounds for disqualification . Entrants will first complete a written test of tractor operation knowledge. Entrants must pass this test before they will enter the actual driving contest. Total scores will be based on written test score and on performance of basic tractor maneuvers. More information can be obtained from either the Vocational Ag department at Hrppner High School or from Morrow County Extension Srvice. Awards will be presented to the top five contestants. DIVISION 3 WOODWORKING PREMIUMS Blue-14. Red -13. White -II In each class, the exhibit shall be one article, or pair of articles msde of wood by the 4 H member which is useful in the home, shop or on the farm. Appearance, utility, workmanship, accuracy and finish shall be considered in the scoring. When power tools are used, attach a tag indicating what tools were used. If a kit is used, indicate such on tag. 44201 Woodworking, Junior 44202 Woodworking, Intermediate 44203 Woodworking, Senior DIVISION 4 COMPUTER PREMIUMS: Blue -14 . St, Red 13 OS, White 12.00 This division ia open to all Morrow County 4-H members currently enro!!d in a computer 4-H project. Display ideas are: simple original programs (including documentation), uses of computers in Morrow County, jobs in computers, brand and specification comparisions, etc. Judging will be based on the attractiveness and the educational value of the exhibit.
