Oregon 97801 Published: June 14. 1984 Heppner Bowl names Bowler of the Year pins over her average to win a The Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon, Thursday, June 14, 1984-SEVEN Billie Doherty has been named 'Bowler of the Year' Obituaries Leona Smallwood Leona Smallwood, 78, died Friday, June 8, 1984 at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Hep pner. She was born May 20, 1906 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of William and Mary (Calhoun) Neves. In the late 1940s, she moved to Oregon. She lived in Portland before coming to Heppner In 1948. Survivors include four sons : Jesse Smallwood of Satellite Beach, Florida, Charles Smallwood of Pearl City, Ha waii, Kenneth Leftwich, Long beach, California, and Claren ce A. Leftwich, Birmingham, Alabama; a daughter Delores Quails, Raytown, Missouri; and 14 grandchildren. Funeral services were 10 . a.m. Wednesday, June 13, at the Assembly of God Church In Heppner; the Rev. LeRoy Wornell officiated. Organist was Carley Drake, and sing ers were Hariey and Kirk Sager. Casket bearers were Ellis and Rick Pettyjohn, Jim Wornell, Brian Sweeney, John Moyer, and Delbert McLach lin. Concluding services and burial were at the Heppner Masonic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pioneer Memorial Hospital Fund dir ectly of through Sweeney Mor tuary, Heppner. Sweeney Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
