Muriel Palmer placed second; Wanda Willis took third; and Susan Johnston came in fourth. Pat Edmundson took a consolation award. The double elimination tournament took place over several weeks at the country club. One-day tournament results at W.C.C.C. follow; In an 18-hole scramble tour nament the team of Lois Hunt and Eileen Padberg finished in first place for low gross score. Sharon Harrison and Harriet Pierson followed in second and Jodi Padberg and Heppner woman honored at 90th birthday party Emma Drake of Heppner was surprised Saturday after noon, Aug. 27. by a one-month early celebration of her 90th birthday. A potluck dinner was held in her back yard. Those attending were her oldest son, Raymond Drake, from Corvallis; his daughter Marahjo Murphy, Beaverton; another son, Donald, and wife Shirley, Stockton, Calif, and their sons Kevin and wife Sandy also Stockton, Calif., and Jon of San Francisco, Calif.; son, Claude and wife Doris, from Deer Lodge, Mon tana : their daughters Claudia and children Ann Marie and David of Oregon City, Joyce Didway, Teresa and Tommy, Richland. In an 18 hole club champion event, first flight winners were: first - Bev Wilson, second - Vicki Sime and third Pat Edmundson, In the second flight, Trish Toll won first place, Barbara Cutsforth placed second and Dorris Craves took third. At a nine-hole flag tourna ment, first place was won by Trish Toll, Lois Hunt took second and Muriel Palmer came in third. In a nine-hold tournament of players with handicaps of 21 and over, Lorena Jones took first, Barbara Cutsforth won second and Dorris Graves placed third. Pat Edmundson won first in an 18 hole string tournament. Second place honors were taken by Wanda Willis, fol lowed by Bev Wilson In third.
