Emma Drake of Heppner
was surprised Saturday after
noon, Aug. 27. by a one-month
early celebration of her 90th
birthday. A potluck dinner
was held in her back yard.

Seventh-day Adventist
Church to show new film
"God's Prison Gang," a
newly released film featuring
Al Capone's getaway driver,
the last member of Bonnie and
Clyde's gang and two other
notorious criminals who have
become Christians will be
shown at the Seventh-day Ad
ventist Church, 560 N. Minor
in Heppner, on Saturday, Sep
tember 10. The showing is
scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
The film, shot behind the
walls of New York's Attica
prison, is hosted by Art Link
letter. It tells the story of how
the work of International
Prison Ministry is accom
plishing what more guards,
higher prison walls and grea
ter financial expenditures
have -failed to do keep'
released inmates from retur
ning to lives of crime, explains
the Rev. Don Reiber. pastor of
the Heppner church.
