scheduled a pre-planning ses
sion for all open class and 4-H
superintendents for Tuesday
April, 12 7 p.m. at the fair
grounds, Heppner.

is to review changes and
improvements in departments
that could be made, work on
coordination of the fair theme
and all department decora
tions and introduce new super

man police officer arrested
Daniel H. Lopez. 19, of Irrigon
for an alleged parole violation.
He was lodged pending a
hearing.

County sheriff's deputy ar

McAdams, 47. of Boardman.

She was released on her own

Stress program to begin
in Heppner April 12
'Defusing the Stress
Bomb." a three-session pro
gram designed to help people
cope with stress, will start
April 12 at 7 p.m. at the
Seventh -day Adventist
Church. 560 N. Minor in Hep
pner. announced a church
spokesperson. Succeeding
sessions will be held on April
19 and 26. There is no charge
to attend, she said.
"Most people recognize that
living in the fast lane gene
rates stress." states Don

gram, "but living in the slow

Ministerial Association will
hold an open meeting on Wed

ing a CROP "Hunger Walk" in

Cathy Barker, pastor of lone

meeting, to be held at United
Methodist Church in Heppner,
is open to anyone interested in
fighting hunger locally and
globally, she said.

During the past week, road
crews were busy doing shoul
der and ditch work and clean
ing culverts on the following
roads: Pine .City to Lena.
French, Alpine and Myers.
Crushed rock was also spread
on Myers and French roads.
Blade work was done on
Baker east and west, east and
west Ella Road and on Stefanl
Road, with road cleanup done
on Paul Brown Road.
In the Irrigon-Boardman
area Homestead Road was
cleaned up and crushed rock
was spread on Roardman-Ir-rigon
Road and on Seventh St.
Irrigon. Patching was done on
First St. in Irrigon and cement
work was done on turnouts
beside culverts on No. 909.
