March 17, 1983 4-H photography weekend planned Morrow County 4-H mem bers, leaders and their fami lies are invited to attend the 1983 4-H family fun photogra phy weekend in April, accord ing to John P. Nordheim. Oregon State University Ex tension agent, Heppner. The annual event, scheduled for April 22 - 24 at the Oregon 4-H Center near Salem, is sponsored by the OSU Exten sion Service in cooperation with the Photographic Society of America and Columbia Council of Camera Clubs. ,, The weekend will feature skilled amateur and profes sional photographers working with members and leaders on such topics as pictorial pho tography and pictorial light ing, composition and impact, printing, mounting and dis playing and darkroom techni ques for both beginning and advanced photographers adds Al Snider. The slide set will he made available later to local groups interested in the 4-H photography pro ject. Snider said. Glenn Barber. Tillamook 4 11 leader, is planning special leader and parent seminars during the camp. Barber re cently attended a special 4-H photography leadership and planning seminar at the Na tional 4-H Center in Washing ton. D C, and will share ideas he learned there. His trip to the seminar was sponsored by Eastman Kodak Co. Others who will be assisting with the event include Judith Aulman. Salem, professional portrait photographer; Paul Blext. Portland, photography instructor at Portland Com munity College: Bob Clark. LaPine. representing the Photographic Society of America, and volunteer coor dinator for the weekend, and John Lingerfelt, Salem, presi dent of the Light Bricade Camera Club and P S A. member. Those wishing to attend must register with the Exten sion office in Heppner by April 1. Nordheim said. By NKOLA MACKEY The Heppner Neighborhood Center will be open this Thursday. St. Patrick's Day. There will be coffee and rc freshments available for those who wish to stop and rest while they are downtown. An Advisory Council meet ing will be held at the center on Monday. Mar. 21, at 7:45 p m. Food donations are needed at the center for the Emer gency Food Program. Van Schoiack is majoring in agriculture. Lexington news Delpha Jones 989-8189 The Three Links Club met at the home of Eula Bloodsworth on Thursday afternoon. A lovely time was enjoyed. The business discussed was an Easter candy and food sale at Del's Market. Tbis would feature homemade candies from molds of bunnies and flowers, and other Easter symbols. Plans were discus sed for coffee hour and shower for the Ford family who re cently lost their household effects in a fire. Refreshments were served and Cathy Tel lechea won the door prize. Present were: Ruth Robinson, Maureen Howard. Hilda Yo com. Catie Padberg, Virginia Peck. Annetta Padberg. Cathy Tellechea and Dorothy Bur cham and Leila Palmer and the hostess. 'Leonard Munkers was de lightfully surprised on Sunday when several friends and rel atives stopped in for a birth day party. A good time was enjoyed by all present. Alice Harrison is spending some time at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Harrison. She is recuperating from recent major surgery. She makes her home in Boardman. The card party held at the 1.0.0 F. hall on Saturday was a fun time with prizes as follows: traveling - Joyce Buchanan and Erma Keith ley; Women's Low - Sara Adkins; Men's Low - Lyle Peck: High men - Frank Rob inson: and High women -Frances Smouse. The lodge quilt winner was Janet Balfe of Anchorage, Alaska. Re freshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Jones were Saturday callers at the Robert McMurphy home in Pendleton and the Bill Baca home in LaGrande. They took Eva Hudson home to the Baca residence after she had spent a week in Lexington. Marie Steagall entertained the C.W.A. at her home on Tuesday. C.W.A. projects were discussed and grange plans made. Those present were Charlene Papineau. Joyce Buchanan, Virginia Peck. Delpha Jones, a guest, Eva Hudson, and the hostess. Lovely refershments were served. He makes his home in Utah where he is attending school. A coffee hour and shower were held at the Lexington Rebekah Hall at 10 a m. on Monday for the Ford family, who lost many household items in a recent fire. Many fine gifts were received, and refreshments of cake and cof fee were served. Lexington Grange will meet on Monday evening for a regular meeting. A pot luck dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. followed by the program, which will be a discussion on the Tri-County Home Health program by Sheridan Tarnas ky. The business meeting will follow. All areinvited to the dinner and program. All area residents hsould have received the reminder from the Morrow County His- torical Society concerning the History Book. Remember, those who want a really fine book must send in orders and stories soon. Time is passing fast and we need the stories. We want children to read about the happenings of their friends and neighbors, and the businesses in our county. Don't you enjoy reading about the early 1900s? The historical soc iety hopes ihat our child ren and great-grandchildren will enjoy reading about the 1980s in Morrow County. Please, we need your help in publishing this. Your, history book. Much work has gone into the book to date and much needs to be done to finish it, so don't delay. Even if you have lived in a county only a short while you are part of the history there, so let's hear from newcomers also. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Nelson were in Seattle, Wash, last week where he received medical attention.
